That being said shouldnt this be in the strategy forum or something? Or provide a replay? Or something more than just a simple question?

Thread But ya, just click on your lings and tell them to attack probes. Shift up a bunch in order. Make separate groups of lings so that you aren't trying to overkill each probe.

http://www.mediafire.com/?t7ot9y94dj453v9 Well I got 2 replay. Both of them don't wall in. If You guys are me, you should win this game with mass lings right?

Hold will assure that they don't move, and they will be forced to attack the nearest enemy unit. Probably probes. Should work, although it's a pretty inefficient way of killing probes since as soon as 1 is out of range, the ling will hit another. Most likely the toss will end up with 15 probes at 10 life, and few dead ones. I would say spread your lings into 2 groups and hot key both. One group of 6, and one with the rest. Then use the smaller group to focus down the probes, and the bigger group to fight zealots or just run around.

my favourite is when there's no enemy units around, man attack move decimates every probe in like 5 secs

If You guys are me, you should win this game with mass lings right? Hey, I watched your replays, and I actually don't think you should've won those games with mass ling, TBH. Both players turtled up a bit at the start, and although in the first game you got a nice baneling harrass off (killed 7 probes), you should've stopped there and moved on with your build, IMO. In the first game after the successful harrass, you should've either gotten up a third expansion, or focused on getting more durable units. Staying with baneling/ling basically just means you're constantly throwing your army away. Likewise ling/hydra is a pretty fragile combo. You really need roaches in that mix to turtle the zealots while the hydras fight the stalkers from the back. In the second game, you stuck with lings when he knew he was going air. As far as the ling rush is concerned, because he had literally no ground army, the rush could've worked really well! but you should've attacked the probes (a-move will work), and not tried for the cannon. There's no reason to kill the cannon UNLESS it will stop you from killing all the probes. Otherwise, canons are a pretty low-priority target. Zergling harrasses should focus on pylons and probes, and the only reason to attack ANYTHING else is if it's going to mean fewer probe kills. In your case the VR in his base was going to finish you off pretty quickly, but not before you could've killed all his probes (even letting the cannon live). The reason you lost, though, is because you stuck with the ling build too long even though you saw air (and probably VRs) coming when you scouted his fast stargate. So to answer your question, basically I'd count both of those games as BO losses -- if you see that kind of turtling from 'toss, mass ling is not going to work too well.

![]() Also, on a related but different note, instead of pulling workers away when you have lings in your mineral line but you have a cannon or something to defend, put them all on hold position as it will screw the zergling pathing immensely. This, of course, is if said zerglings aren't on hold position as well. ![]() Oh and hold position workers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ultralisk pathing(assuming the ultras want to attack something else). ![]()
