(serious) Because, even if they can check the normal MPQs to look for edits and ban for it (I highly doubt they could tell, given the file names would be exactly the same within the MPQs, and I doubt they would do that anyway), the original MPQs wouldn't even be edited. You'd have patch MPQs in the same folder that are read first to overwrite the specific things you want.
Essentially you'd be getting banned for having extra files inside of a folder on your harddrive. I can't imagine that ever happening.
Maybe I'm wrong, but file editing seems extremely safe to me. It's all client-side.

I think it sounds sick because you don't understand the language.

Well the English version sounds stupid as well.
I should go and switch all of the audio with SC BW audio.

I laughed when I heard the Korean localization sounds.
I think bonedriven is right, it sounds cool because you don't understand the language.

An entire WoW guild got permabanned for editing MPQ files and removing a piece of the ground with it, so that they could go through the world and skip stuff in raids.

U will be banned only if the modification give you an advantage. Cosmetic one's are safe. I use some skin modification for WoW for ages and didn't have any troubles.

They weren't banned because they edited MPQs. They were banned because they exploited using it. If they hadn't exploited (in such an obvious manner, no less -- I do know the guild you're talking about, back in the AQ days), there's no way blizz would have ever had a clue.

There are diffrent sounds for wow right? Is it allowed to change to korean sounds in WoW then? or something like that
|
As Buddhist says, such a minor change that has little to no impact on real game play wouldn't really be investigated by Blizzard regardless of being against the TOA or not
|
You don't need to understand the language to know whether or not a voice sounds sexy. Korean voice = sexy. English voice = not sexy (and slightly annoying).

This is a quite good thread for people who are actually interested in this, but the thread name is just awful :f

Yeah i wouldn't mind a Korean zerg sound pack i think it would be rather neat.

Someone told me to just download the Korean client and change the mpq files...
But isn't having the Korean client enough? If I download the korean version I'll just have the korean game right? I don't really want to change anything, and I don't mind having a full korean game.
That would even be more awesome than having just Korean sounds... That would make me feel like all my lands are foiled and Korean. (insider "joke")
So I am currently downloading (with pauses) the Korean 6 gig game with the Korean client... My intuition says people aren't saying stuff about mpq things for nothing so what's the deal?
Will I be able to play the game (everything korean though (which is awesome) ) after I download this?
