I too was hoping IdrA would break through MC. i didn't see the game (spoil it so dont' spoil others) but how did he win it?
+ Show Spoiler +MC went blink stalkers, MorroW crushed it pretty easily and went on to win the game, closing it out methodically. (He had a huge advantage after the botched attack though.) MorroW did lose the series, but he took a game off MC on what was the worst zerg map.

Morrow was able to defend and got way too ahead for MC to come back

Why do people keep using game 2 morrow vs mc as proof of anything? MC didn't even get any upgrades, did he even have a forge?

They seem to think that Idra's issue (and this is coming from Incontrol, who presumably knows Idra from a more personal level) is that he can't take accountability for his losses - ie he can't take losses, and when they happen he tilts, sometimes towards an entire match-up.

iNcontroL comments that the main complaint regarding nyduses is that they're too expensive, Day9 starts cracking up.

It didnt get improved, it takes 20 years to get any zerglings out of it one by one.

Damnit, they need Artosis for this balance discussion and he left >_<

Artosis switched to Toss, remember?

Ok, that scourge example is probably the best I've ever heard.
EDIT: Also, I miss scourge.
EDIT2: iNc, I've been complaining about Zerg 1aing and poor positioning for attacks for a while. Do you think the level of play would be higher if we didn't have unlimited unit selection? Maybe 20 unit control groups instead.

yup, Nydus would be so much scarier if unit transfer was instantaneous instead of 1 on 1
that might be a bit too broken though. however, I've been wondering if Blizzard would be able to encourage more Nydus usage if they increased the HP on it.

This discourse is really good! I like it!

Sooo... why did they refuse to discuss zerg balance in this much depth last week when Idra was on?

Obviously, but he knows a lot more about what its like to play Zerg at higher levels than the rest of the cast. BUT. I want to add... This kind of discussion is exactly what I was looking for last week, when everyone (including myself) was in here complaining about Idra's comments being brushed aside. Believe the game is imbalanced or not, there can still be discussion about what Zerg can do better and have ideas thrown around. I'm finding they are making some really interesting points about what Zerg can be doing differently right now.

I'm not sure they are just talking about Zerg but a mentality. They're all former BW players, really strong ones, as I recall - so they are drawing upon their previous experience to talk about a very similar game.
