I have an idea. Why can't SOTG find a few zergs to have on one week that will advocate why zerg ISN'T imbalanced. Having 2 protosses, and Day9 (a sc2 amateur) talk about what a zerg can do at a professional level doesn't carry that much weight, when all the community hears zergs from FruitDealer to Nestea to Idra to Catz say that zerg is underpowered.

Day9 always says you can't just say "you know what, having 5 voidrays here is nice, you have to consider how you get there", but now he says "you know what, use nyduses".

Have some pro zergs on to talk about how you get there.

Also, even Morrow who switched from terran to zerg has said that zerg is underpowered. Also Artosis has switched to Protoss, and it isn't like he says Protoss is now underpowered just because he plays Protoss now.

Sooo... why did they refuse to discuss zerg balance in this much depth last week when Idra was on?

Because Zerg players are too stubborn to try new things, and just refer to their hardships/losses as imbalance

Sorry, but no... this SotG is stupid. They should have had this discussion last week with Idra, so it wouldn't be such a one-sided argument.

They keep talking about multi drops (which terrans don't even do btw, even MVP at most drops 2 places at once) or splitting your army into nyduses or overlord drops..

Yet every time this happens, protoss just attacks and melts your base, while cannoning up whatever base you are not attacking. Once your base is gone (protoss will kill a zergs far faster), they just go back and defend their remaining stuff... It has happened a lot, especially in GSL o_0

It even happens to terran. Every time a protoss senses your army can't beat theirs, they just push and win. It doesn't matter if you lose all your probes, your army is weaker than theirs and they are in your production buildings..

So I just tuned in and the first thing I hear is Incontrol saying "The game is broken, switch to Protoss".
I'm glad he finally agrees

Another point is that it's the zerg pros who say that zerg is underpowered. There's not a bunch of Terran pros or Protoss pros who say that their respective races are underpowered. In fact, there are actually Terran and Protoss pros who say zerg is underpowered.

Look at interviews that Artosis has done with Korean pros. The non-zergs are saying that zerg is imbalanced.

SOTG is now resorting to a strawman of what the zergs are arguing. ie. Tyler's silly voice.

I would agree, but Tyler's opinion doesn't matter. He hasn't won anything yet. Remember?

They did have Idra on last week, when he tried discussing balance everyone just laughed him off. I know it's Idra but still, they don't even really want to consider opinions other than their own.

yeah, it's annoying. They'll basically circle jerk each other's opinions about why zerg isn't imbalanced, but last week, Day9 says he doesn't even want to discuss it, and just laughs whenever Idra says anything.

Obviously, but he knows a lot more about what its like to play Zerg at higher levels than the rest of the cast.

Um.... Incontrol was a Z player in bw and is a Z coach in sc2... While artosis knows a lot about the game and Z, I wouldn't say that he knows a lot more than incontrol.

No, they just know Idra is second only to Artosis when it comes to balance whine.

I'm at the point where i don't want to hear from any pro zergs anymore. It feels like the vocal ones have given up, and i think they're wrong to do so. It's depressing, like, "oh no, here's the emo zerg let's hear him cry about how he can't do anything".

Reminds me of a few months ago when Geoff and Tyler (this discussion making them hypocrites likely) were saying how the only thing they could do was go Colossi and thus Protoss were weak (paraphrasing of course). It was the most pathetic shit i ever heard. Now Protoss is winning and they're telling Zerg to explore their options. Now to be fair Geoff did admit at the time that perhaps there are new things they could do (ie: build units not from a robo) but he sounded pretty emo and defeated. Not at a Zerg level like they are today, where it feels they (or at least Idra) have given up completely. But it was close.

I like how things go in cycles.

Pretty hilarious.

Are any top Zerg players actually experimenting with Nydus? By experiment I mean playing a week's worth of games using Nydus every game that goes past 12 minutes. You can't figure out the best use for Nydus without using it a ton in a ton of different scenarios. Someone might stumble upon something good.
