He sounded like a bronze level player theorycrafting. Lord knows he's good at the game, but some of his statements were completely ridiculous. The entire time he was trying to talk about how protoss should go according to him was Painful (haha get it, Painuser Painful lol). I could almost hear Geoff and Tyler shaking their heads through my speakers. I'm dreading downloading Episode 21 knowing he's on it again..... Oh and the quote "...once innovative protoss players start coming up with new stuff..." sounded like a direct slap in the face to the two protoss players he was talking to. + Show Spoiler + though for all I know somebody could have brought this up last week and it'll never happen again You don't think they should get people with different perspectives on a starcraft podcast? I was actually really glad to hear his ideas. And no shit it sounds like theory crafting, that's because it is.

Eh, theorycrafting in general I suppose isn't that bad, but when you have dude number one saying "according to my numbers zealots are ROFLAMAZING" and the two who actually play Protoss countering with "yeah but in practice Zealots die uber fast and aren't that good," dude number one needs to just shut it and stop trying to force his point. Obviously the two Protoss players, who actually use the Zealot every day, are much more of an authority over a Terran player with some formulas. It just rubbed me the wrong way.

I guess when you play terran you KNOW zealots are good, because they're hard to play against. So when two protosses players that never researched charge once are telling you zealots sucks, it's hard to beleive when yourself are struggling against zeals. Or something like that.

You seem to be easily offended I guess... I think that Painuser is diplomatic when it comes to balance talk; he seems to restrain himself from making any severe statements. Your paraphrasing of his statement about zealots is a gross misrepresentation of the point he was trying to make. He merely said that zealots had good hp*dps/cost without claiming any further implications. Were you also offended when Day9 also said that he felt zealots were underrated in the previous cast? Painuser isn't a random dude with formulas; he's a top-level terran player with the authority to comment on the various strengths of protoss units given the fact that he is obviously proficient in that match-up. More importantly, he seems to be an interesting and talkative guy whose further appearances in upcoming podcasts I look forward to.

"yeah but in practice Zealots die uber fast and aren't that good, Really? Zealots are the best and cheapest tank unit in the game. Damn... They are amazing. If you can get them into range, their DPS is just. wow.... Ofcourse getting them in range is the problem.

Playing the Devil's Advocate looks like fun lol. Or something like that. Anyways, I guess I just interpreted it wrong. Oh well.

Ofcourse getting them in range is the problem. Yeah, it pretty much comes down to on paper zealots vs in practice zealots. We all know that on paper zealots are amazing. However in practice zealots are only really good vs small numbers when you have good positioning and/or good FFs. Then in the later stages, they are mineral dumps that can take a few hits before they die - if pylons could move I'd bring them to battle over zealots every day. Charge ofc. changes all of that but charge is expensive and comes fairly late.

The invited 15 players are all pretty good, except Naama/madfrog maybe, but other than that there's no guarantee the remaining 17 will be any good.

Though, im not saying Painuser would be one of those who deserves it, but there are players who really deserves the invite more than some who already got it.
