Well to be honest, this kind of attitude is why e-sports will never be taken seriously. Just kids playing videogames right? Who cares if someone runs a messed up event and money goes missing. It's just videogames folks. Nothing to see here. It's no wonder e-sports will never gain mainstream acceptance, when people like this and on sotg think it's no big deal.

And seriously, putting thinly veiled 'affecting the growth of esports' shit in the end of your post too? This somehow managing to become the most cliched thing ever in such a short time despite being a joke in the first place.

We have several thorough accounts from people who were directly involved in this. People who have actually followed this even just slightly know this already. If something like this isn't worthy of being discussed on SotG, then I don't see what is. This is a large part of Starcraft 2 as an e-sports.

Why would you report on things you don't know to be true? If there is a lot of miss information out there or things are unclear, they shouldn't report on them. Fact checking is important and taking information from some random reddit threat is not good fact checking. I hate getting news through threads because there is so much miss information. Expecting people connected to professional organizations to comment on the wild rumors and partial facts in a reddit or TL threat is silly. It poor reporting and people who want otherwise are either dumb or trolls. Artosis was there and said it best: "I was there, I don't know what happened. I had a good time. There were issues, but I am not sure exactly what they were. I am sure I will have an opinion when the facts come out." So, to be covered at a later date.

This is a large part of Starcraft 2 as an e-sports. Because they are following the most important rule of reporting: The Internet is not to be Trusted. And these accounts are verified how? How do we know these people are being truthful? I am not throwing stones, but the guys on SotG have no ability to confirm any of the information. Personally, I don't want them to state their opinion until they are 100% they know everything. Anything less would just be adding full to the fire of mis-information.

EDIT: And lolol at "this is why we'll never be a legitimate esport." I agree, if by that you mean the community reaction. Or, even, the reaction people have taken to SOTG in this thread. When people acting reasonably are somehow demonized, something is wrong.

There was a HON tournament announced. This can be verified by looking at the PPSL announcement. The HON players showed up. This can be verified by looking at the posts of the HON people who were in the teams who arrived and were ignored by Gus. There was no HON tournament. This can be verified because there was no HON tournament, as stated by the IGN apology post. That is unacceptable. How is this gossip?

Clive was asked to sign for the hotels, Amanda was the travel agent who issued the tickets for most of the talent and players. Amanda post paid for the tickets with the agency, if Gus doens't pay her the agency can run after her and put her in jail. Clive's hotel debt is 37,000 Pesos ($900~) & Amanda's agency debt is 516,000 Pesos. ($12,000~) Gus is not appearing nor answering. Clive is stuck here in the hotel till we get this solved today. that was the first mention of the exact amount of the missing money and it came from thegunrun. gossip indeed.

The guys are SotG said, "We are not sure. Go ask GunRun, he knows more than we do." They did not say the facts were not out there, they just did not know them. Personally, I know nothing and I am not taking the information you just provided on face value. Why, because its second hand and I don't know if it is true. I am not going to provide my opinion on any this, since I know very little and don't care to read about it. Why would you expect more out of SotG?
