I would consider Starcraft more similar to Football or Soccer than Chess. 1. Actually, in a way it is. Batteries remind me of unit comps/timing pushes based on unit comps a bit. 2. While technically, all of chess is micro. It is all army positioning. 3. There's a lot of this (Making a certain unit because you anticipate them making one, counter attacking because you anticipate them retreating, etc.) Idk why you compare something turn based to a RTS in the first place. Chess and Starcraft does not have alot in common, there is no recourse management in chess for example. Actually, in chess tournaments they have to manage time; take more time to do one move than another move.
That is managing time, say alot of the time a starcraft player have to manage time between when stim finishes and the time where he has an opportune windows to attack. Or deciding how much time to spend microing over macroing.

I just listened to state of the game for the first time( last 4 episodes) and I just want to say that it was amazing. InControl is fucking hilarious! Keep up the great work guys. I like it when you analyze match ups and the complaints section at the end is jokes. The guests are great, keep bringing in top players as guests, Huk was sick! I can't wait till the next episode/ MLG Dallas.

Absolutely NO clue what the announcement will be though, makes me anxious though to find out.
All the talks of a new sponsor confuse me, since they announce new sponsors all the time ie: intel mobos, thermal take, etc. When they acquired Loaded Gaming they grabbed new sponsors but it wasn't made into that big of a deal, so I'm wondering why it would get so hyped over that.

From this week's episode.... StarCraft has much more in common with contemporary RTS games than chess. Heck, StarCraft 2 has more in common with the original CnC than chess.

Know what Starcraft is like? It doesn't matter, because we already know what starcraft IS, so what it's like is irrelevant.

It's not a bad thing, it's a good technique to hook people into the game. I've heard positioning hockey compared to boxing out in basketball, same thing for clearing out space in football/basketball. It's a good thing (Martha Stewart accent)
