There is no micro in Chess. Chess is about anticipating your opponent's moves and countering them. There is a little of that in Starcraft. I wouldn't really consider Chess that similar to Starcraft. Chess is a thinking game. Starcraft is more of a sport. And that makes Starcraft far superior than Chess to watch. I would consider Starcraft more similar to Football or Soccer than Chess. Good point. Starcraft is like being the general manager and coach of the worst soccer team of all time. Unless you tell them EXACTLY what to do at any given time they will either stand around, run out of bounds, or die.

I just pictured soccer players running around screaming and like one of them starting on fire and dying for no apparent reason.

This has to be a troll right? While chess is turn based, some moves can be used as both offensive and defensive postures. You also have to be able to be aggressive while also being safe, sorta like multitasking. Pawns? Rooks? Queen(no pun intended) I would call that having a different unit composition. Are we even talking about the same 2 games here? If you don't try to anticipate your opponents move you are probably stuck in lower leagues. Every single decent player scouts, and tries to anticipate their opponents intentions, then find its counter. This can be done from simple unit compositions, to broad play styles.

I find it pretty ridiculous that you are trying to argue that chess has multitasking.

Actually, in a way it is. Batteries remind me of unit comps/timing pushes based on unit comps a bit. 2. While technically, all of chess is micro. It is all army positioning. 3. There's a lot of this (Making a certain unit because you anticipate them making one, counter attacking because you anticipate them retreating, etc.)

Chess and Starcraft does not have alot in common, there is no recourse management in chess for example.

Actually, in chess tournaments they have to manage time; take more time to do one move than another move.
