will it still be an invitational? in my opinion it would be much better if you could take 32 or 64 players (from the top of the diamond leagues) and make them play through qualifiers. i know it'll mean much more work for you and HD but im sure there are plenty of people out there willing to help you organise.

I love when you you do an un-existing page in the forum
The page you were looking for either doesn't exist or some terrible, terrible error has occurred.
We seem to be having a little problem with our website, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then - explode.

Great, thanks for making it clear to the world that I've played too much.....

Division Lurker Sigma isn't in...
I should be in the 350ish points right now and one of my friend is 550ish points in the same division....
Can't find both of us

Very cool, good idea. I'd love to see more of these or even see this developed further.

Pretty awesome spreadsheet. I can't believe some of those guys have over 300 ladder games already. -_-

On every profile page there is this link in the source that's static across all profiles: <div class="spotlight-tile tile-protoss" onclick="Core.goTo('367/');"> (except for the protoss part) Every page that holds that info follows the same pattern as well: http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/96087/1/ladder/ for example in this case, http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/96087/1/ladder/367/ is the division so what you do is fopen http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/<incremental loop value>/1/ladder/ and check for error code in the html of their error page for a profile, if a profile detected then regexp the core.goto('int') val and parse the ladder page for data. Then you just set the operation on a cron job/automated task and let it fly. I could write this up but atm im busy with work(i work as a php developer) and preparing for the Inferno Online cup =) Best of luck and gj!
Yes I did something like that overnight but I forgot to remove a breakpoint in my code, lol. I just started it again... You can pm me if you want to work something out together.

Awesome!
Request: can you add a win % column?
|
Is it just me or should the rankings be sorted by Win/Loss ratio? Who has the most points seems kind of weak. I know Blizzard thinks that is how people should be ranked, but shouldn't we have a higher standard? Just because someone plays more games and grinds through more hours of SC with a 50% win rate doesn't necessarily make them better than someone who doesn't play as much but wins more games with a 70% win rate.

iccup was a point system to... It cant be sorted by win rate or else someone whos 7-0 ends up on top. The best players play a lot. Sorting by points is the best way to do it at the moment. Of course the point system may need some work but for now it is the best we have

Bah, only 25th. Need to ladder more

It is just you. This is how "all" ranking system works. What happens If say dimaga and whitera plays 300 games. Ofc they dont get 100%. Then you come and play 10-0. Do you think you should be first ranked ?
Since you lose points if you lose you wont get past 1000 rating if you don't deserve it, no matter how much you grind the game. Eventually you might become better and rise above 1000 rating. But then you are that good, no matter how bad your % are.

Gee, I guess you are right. That would not easily be solved by imposing a minimum game condition at all. Play 100 games, then you are ranked by win rate. If I win 80 of my 100 games and White-Ra wins 60, then I dare say I would be better. Of course that wouldn't happen cuz I'm a scrub and WR is a beast.

I have a friend who decided to make a website out of this, it should be up tonight. We were able code something that will update the (very simle) website automatically.

How does league interact with rating? Is 600 Diamond considered much higher than 600 Platinum? If so, how can you compare ratings between different leagues?
The top guy in my division (Plat) has 745, which would put him in second place on this list at the moment =/
