Most esports communities (Quake, CS etc.) never had chat channels in their games, they did just fine using IRC. Ever wondered why the biggest IRC network is called Quakenet? Quake is somewhat of an exception, but even in RA3/CPMA, most people play on pubs where it's not just a 1v1. There's plenty of time to chat with people in CS and Q3, notso during SC games. The mechanisms for joining games is also much different, as you have a set IP address to connect to, whereas in SC2 you need to make someone your friend if you want to play with them. Quite frankly, I don't want everyone on my friends list.
IRC could replace it, but it shouldn't have to. There isn't a single good justification for removing it. Not only are complaints about bots invalid (having channels with bots that people ignore is STILL better than no channels) and most likely moot, because of the B.net login system and report function. Bots won't be a problem, as long as Blizzard GMs stay awake.

I can't believe they're deleting topics at bnet. The whole point of a feedback page is for us to give feedback on what we believe will make the game better. ugh.

We all see the play time expiration counter in the UI. Can we really continue to ignore that?
You can buy time instead of the game in certain countries, do some research first.

Oh wow, anyone who isn't a rabid fanboi or a blizzard employee can see that battlenet 2.0 is a huge, utter and massive failure. The guys at blizzard are seriously delusional if they think the platform they created to play SC2 is even half decent, it's trash, sub par to battlenets released on ten year old games. Definitely not picking this up until they clean up their act. Honestly if I was on the team working on SC2 I'de be pretty pissed at the failnet crew, produced a great game only to have it crippled by the freakish creation they call "battlenet 2.0" Blizzard has really lost their ways, I'm just at a loss here.

Just being honest I'm not 'threatening" blizzard, I am almost 30 years old and watching this company go to shit since activision merger is sad ;( Not to mention treat all their customers like children now.. This trend is really making me worry for Diablo 3. I have been looking forward to D3 for over half a decade (much like w/ SC2), and seeing just how much Blizzard is dropping the ball and intentionally fucking up (like trying to kill KeSPA so that SC2 won't have competition in Korea) makes me fear for what they might just have in store for D3. Lol don't worry I'm sure D3 will have built in twitter!
Lol I'd stab you if you were close! Truth hurts though :|

I don't think it has much to do with Activision since they are both owned by vivendi anyways. Rather with the super big WoW Success that got into their heads, even themselves didn't expect such a boom in the first place. Then Blizzard North left Blizzard? Diablo3 without North? No way! Everything could be a factor , who knows

They claim it's a bug. I call bullshit.
I'm just waiting for the day that Blizzard crashes and burns from this bullshit. It kills me to see a company that used to give the highest quality games in the world turn into something so mediocre, but it will bring me endless satisfaction to see these guys completely destroy themselves and have to own up to it.

they deleted my post in battle.net
in fact they delete everything realy fast .... that how they want to play it ?

Here's another idea.
Nobody go to Blizzcon. It inanely expensive anyway, SC2 is getting screwed up, etc. etc.
Sure they'll get all the wowies, but SC players boycotting would make things interesting. (As long as they don't decide to just give up and cancel the project...)

wow, i really wish today was april 1st coz this is total horseshit. Right now I'm playing all 3 'realms' and even though I'm living in the USA right now... if I only get to pick one place to play, I'll be on the asia realm. There's by far the most (best) competition there and yea... Wow.. that's retarded that I have to buy 3 games if i want to play on all 3. What a load of shit.
I don't give a shit about chat rooms.. I have my own vent server and anyone I care to 'chat' with is usually welcome in there so I don't use that shit anyways, but breaking up the regions is really dumb.
ICCUP please do something about this shit, build us b.net 3.0 coz 2.0 is broken.

Yes because this is something they are implementing for regions of the world where 60usd is a lot of money, so intead of them buying the game they will be able to purchase playtime for the game instead and once they have the 60usd(or equivalent) they can purchase the game and play as much as they want.
If you wanna get cynical about it then sure, one day bnet 2.0 will be a paid for service. I dont see that happening since I'm not that paranoid though.

This sucks, I have had faith in blizzard thinking they actually cared about their fans. Also the news with korea was negative aswell. Are they trying to kill e-sport, and only make kidgames?

Australian should learn chinese and korean... it's for their sake

it's the same thing with wow name changes, possible sc2 account resets/ changes /..., wow pve-to-pvp-transfers if "the community wants it, we (blizzard) will implement it."
read: If there are enough fools willing to pay for services which should be part of the product on release, it will get implemented sooner or later. FOR A FEE.

I think this should be reposted to be read
This is just disgusting.
The fans should just threaten to do the "Death by a Thousand Amazon One-Stars" like the Spore community did over the DRM issue. That certainly got a response out of EA quickly, and it would probably work against Blizzard as well.

Or have people go to blizzcon, and raise hell about all this nonsense.

Iccup should MAKE bnet 2.0, cause what we have is bnet 0.5 .

Are they really fucking deleting feedback topics about this on their fucking feedback forum ? I think I just lost the last bit of faith I had in blizzard. God I used to like this company so much.
