Apparantly blizzard doesn't understand that the vast majority of people with friends on b.net make them ON bnet, they can't expect everyone to have friends that play SC2 as much as you do.. Naturally only 1-2 people will stay with on, everyone else will stick with the newest trend, and you make the real flist from people you meet over playing sc2. Facebook thing indicates the same thing. Seriously, what kind of community has a facebook friends list full of people who play SC?? | ||

Nope. No plans for specific chat rooms at this time. You'll be able to open up chats direct with your friends, and when we add clans and groups there'll be chats for your clans and groups, but no specific plans for chat rooms right now. Do you really want chat rooms? To be honest, "clans and groups" sounds like it will fufill the function of custom chat rooms, possibly even better than b.net1 custom chat rooms since you'll probably be able to be in multiple at once. Sucks that they won't have it ready at launch, but then again I refuse to buy the game at launch. | ||

That being said, assuming he was accurate, public chat channels is imo a useless feature, they always were full of bots/spamers/idiots, I don't understand the fuss about it, but the crossrealm play politic will indeed force competitive players to buy 3 time the 3 expansions of SC2 = 9 games, totally ridiculous, it will probably discourage a lot of them. People need to focus their petitions on the last issue and be absolutely intransigent on it. | ||

I am a casual player and when still playing SC/BW I met some nice people by hanging around in the chat rooms. My reallife friends never were that much into rts so I had to find people online to play with and chat rooms made it pretty easy. And I also used cross server play since I am not working in a typically 8 to 5 shift und at night I had troubles finding people to play with on european servers during week. Sorry Blizz, what a shitty decision, if you dont change this, you can put your SC2 where the sun never shines. | ||
