The features the competitive players are asking for are features that will not affect casual gamers in any way. Having chat rooms and cross server play in no way negatively affects a casual gamers play experience.
What defines a "casual gamer"? I'm a fairly casual player - mostly I play 1v1 with other bad players or FFAs. Both of those really depend on ability to chat (or I guess I can join random games) - if there's no channels, it'll drive people back to IRC and stuff. You know, progress.

The fans should just threaten to do the "Death by a Thousand Amazon One-Stars" like the Spore community did over the DRM issue. That certainly got a response out of EA quickly, and it would probably work against Blizzard as well. Everyone read this. could you please explain what it is or something? give some info? tried to look it up in google, but to no avail Get every single TL member to give SC2 a 1 star rating on websites like amazon. That would definitely scare blizz because that could effect sales numbers

Someone should make a bnet forums post with the poll and results as title.

blizzard is too arrogant, mr. pearce doesn't really care for players... or for the future of the game. He is too much occupied counting Dollars.

When Spore dropped the ball, players rated it a 1/5 on Amazon. It had quite the impact on EA so ...
It really got obliterated in score lol :p

EA made it so you can only install the game 3 times in the entire game's lifetime. Coupled with a $50 price tag and a completely different game than what was original promised .. well, you get the idea.

wow. is this interview for real? I seriously thought this was just a troll/ fake interview. That doesn't sound like blizzard.
This sounds just so ehh... like he has been living in a closet and don't have a clue what the fans are saying on the boards.

It terrifies me how little developers know what starcraft was/is/continues to be.
But that's okay. We have facebook integration now.

The poll results are quite self-explanatory.

I cancelled my pre-order. Not worth it at this point. I knew all of these issues but I had wrongly assumed they would attempt to fix them. How wrong I was.

Well, i can live without LAN. No Chatrooms ? That suck a lot, but if you are a diehard fan, you may grit your teeth and survive without them. Somehow... But you can't play on Asia or US without buying multiple copies of the game ??? I have no tolerance for that.

im pretty stupid for not being able to figure that out on my own thanks guyz

someone really needs to wake these guys up, they NEED to put chatrooms in this game if they want it to be anywhere near as successful as BW

Feels like blizzard reps came to my house, shit on my porch, killed my dog, and kicked me square in the nuts. Feels bad man.

Well, there is a good side to all this: Bigges incentive to create private servers like ICCup, that have always been run much much better than anything Blizz ever created themselves anyway. And it's not like Blizz can touch servers stationed in countries like Russia.
I was worried that Bnet 2.0 would be "OK", not giving any incentive to create private servers while still not being as good as the community deserved. Seems Blizz has solved that problem at least.
The game still owns, just needs someone who can run a competitive arena properly. Blizz is showing that they really can't, just like the showed in BW over and over again with their official ladder.
