Hopefully, this Roach buff is a prelude to that long-overdue Marauder nerf.

After all, Terrans probably needed a very strong Marauder to deal with all the Roaches...but if there are fewer Roaches on the field, then Marauders don't need to be as powerful...right?

The crashing when exciting fix is very welcome, it got pretty annoying at times, also I feel as if the supply increase for roaches is killing the swarm aspect of Zerg. It does serve to increase Zerg early game numbers, but that would be mostly Zerglings. I feel that this change will encourage Zerg players to micro more with their Zerglings instead of just A-moving a ball of Roaches

roach nerf seems a bit too harsh, they werent exactly fine before, but now they arent good enough.
thor size reduced, wonderful. didnt cannonrush in bw, didnt cannonrush in sc2 so i cant feel the forge nerf, but it seems there was a problem, so no biggie here.

Well the main problem with Zerg is that it's not Zerg anymore. If we changed Terran's and Zerg's unit stats and had models etc that fit their races, Terran would be more Zerg than Zerg is now.

I agree, I really hate how it seems the race's identities are getting blended. Either make the roach egg spawn 2 roaches and it cost 3 supplies, or get rid of some of the prior roach nerfs. Blizzard seems to always makes cool concepts, but because they always over adjust everything becomes more similar to one another and everything becomes a bit more bland. You can be sure things like vulture, mutas, dark swarm, irradiate wouldn't survived Blizzard's modern approach to balance.
I hate the post below mine because it feels War3-ish.

I am not agreeing or even commenting on the actual changes that came down the pipe this time.

What I want to bring up is how for a very long time, people have been clamoring for change to the unholy trinity, the Roach, Marauder, and Immortal.

Keep in mind that both the Marauder and Immortal are a great counter for the Roach.

Zealot + Sentry is better against Marauders than Immortals cost efficiency wise.

Now with the Roach nerfed, Immortals will see less play. There has been a decline in Marauder play already and this will probably have an effect on it too.

The whole trinity has been nerfed, and each time a part of it is nerfed, it effects all three since they share some weird bastard relationship.

Once again I am not saying these changes are good or bad, just simply pointing out some of the ramifications of these changes.

hmm, i i think the nerf on roaches will go beyond just having fewer roaches on the field. Mechanics-wise, the zerg will now have to keep looking back at their food more often, and will have to make overlords more frequently.

Other than that, there might be a marauder nerf in future patches, because marauders needed to be buffed in order to fight mass roaches, but now that the roach numbers will be significantly less, marauders, in theory, should rip through roaches now. I'm not completely sure though, because if they nerf marauders for the sake of TvZ, then how will affect TvP? Personally, i haven't seen enough TvP/PvT games in order to make decent judgment on marauders in TvP.

On the patch:
Roach nerf is very surprising... and will hit the zerg pretty hard imo
I mean everything about the "ROACH" has been nerfed in the past patches... and now 2 supply?
I suggested 2 supply back when they had 2 armor and didn't have to research burrow movement... I also suggested moving them to T2 and hydra back to 1.5 with 1 food...

but apparently having a bunch of expensive ass, hungry zerg units is more balanced... "/

Marauders already rape roach offcreep and without speed upgrade... now every T will just reaper harass into all-in marauder and maybe throw in a few hellions in there...

What? They nerfed the roach, which is bad against the maruader, how will that make us see more marauders?

Are you saying it will take a longer time for zerg to get to anti-marauder units? I somehow doubt it to be honest.

Based on Asian rankings as of May 14th P and 2 T's top it... they do get followed by like 7 zergs tho but I think it proves the fact that terran can be used well and can win xD
