Forgive me if I missed someway to see this. I hope this request isn't too much as it would be very useful. Thanks for making this either way. Supply and resources are not recorded in replays. But I'm working on something like this...

Dear Developer.
sometime ago this project raised into a huge and useful piece of software for all sc2 gamers. But as long as it remains a piece of proprietary program, I stay suspicious. Such programs suddenly become too popular and they get abusive spyware, adware, keylogger, all kind of nasty shit we know.
why do you keep this project closed? as it shows here completely different: http://code.google.com/p/sc2gears/
I am ok with a closed project, but as long as there is no more info than a name of some guy and misinformations on other sites, then:
+ Show Spoiler +
hopefully you clean things up... somehow. at least you ordered a domain, that is kinda calming.
keep it up!

Hello,
I love sc2gears, and thank you for this awesome program. However, I ran into a problem. As of yesterday, sc2gears suddenly stopped working. When I double-click on the sc2gears icon, nothing happens. I checked the logs directory, but there is no files in it. I did a system restore to a point when I knew sc2gears worked, yet that didn't help either. I re-downloaded it and put it fresh into a new folder in D:, still no go. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Dear User!
I have the right not to publish the sources. And I chose not to. I have my reasons. Throughout the years I think I earned some respect to my name (BWHF Agent for example). If you don't trust it (me), I don't care, it's not my problem. My other hacker finder and general StarCraft utility program and system has been chosen to be open source (even the server side, now that's very rare!), and it turned out to be working against me.
The Google code project for Sc2gears is just a placeholder in case I open source it in the future. It states no false information, check again. There is no misinformation. And you see only one name as the developer, because I am the sole developer of this product.

Thanks! Do you have Java installed? Can you check and share your logs? Or at least the relevant parts?

Yes, I have Java installed. I have Java 1.6.0.22, which I believe is the latest. I was able to use sc2gears before yesterday anyways.
As for the logs, there is nothing in the logs folder. I have enabled 'show hidden files and folders' as well, so that's not the problem.
I have win7 64 bit if it helps.

Do you have by any chance running instances in the background? Do you start it on startup? Check in the Task manager if you have any javaw.exe processes running (and terminate them).

Decided to uninstall Java and re-install it and now it works again! Apparently, the problem was with my Java. Thanks for the help and thanks for this program!

I love this program, I am having one minor issue though and I can't see anywhere where anyone else if having it though. I wanted to rename all of my older replays, so to do so I loaded them all up into sc2gears 3.00. Well This is what I got when I clicked on rename
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I asked a couple people in live video chats and what not but no one could figure out why either. I have tried running sc2gears in administrative mode even though I shouldn't have to as well just as a troubleshooting issue.

On October 21 2010 21:21 Dakota_Fanning wrote: Cool. Looks the solution is simple: you used an invalid character in the name template. Windows does not allow to use | (pipe) character in file names (linux might does). Remove those characters or use something else. First you might want to try creating an empty text file and give that name to see if it is allowed.

ahhh, cool beans, let me try that and lets see if it works.. I should've known that i wouldn't be able to rename a file with that character in it... Lol. Silly me!

Very cool and useful program!

I find out about this awesome program today and the download server is down :|

Just wanted to drop a quick line and thank you for developping this program. I've been using it recently to increase my APM and it's been working quite well. Each week I up the APM a bit and it forces myself to keep up and I've been seeing some good gains. It's easy to get lazy after a few games, but this keeps me going. I know that's just a minor aspect of the program but that alone makes it all worthwhile. So thanks, and keep up the good work.

chiming in to say i love this program, thx

How do you read the replay information and where is it hidden? Noone seems to discuss this topic ever.

I wrote my own replay parser which reads, decodes and interprets SC2Replay files. If you're interested in the replay format, there are some quite good open source replay parsers.

Is there a mirror to this or somewhere else I can get the program. Your site appears to be down maybe it's just a temporary maintenance or something but I've been trying for the past few hours. I had a previous version but had to format windows but I really enjoyed the usefulness of this program.

I don't have experience in these programming languages. I'll look into it anyway. Thanks.
