I average about 140APM, I've set the APM Alert to 155, but I only hear the alert like 3 times a match. Is 1 second the smallest interval you can set or is it possible to go lower? It checks the current APM, not the average. 1 sec is the smallest interval you can specify.

So basically if I happen to have a current APM lower than 155 (in my case) for more than 1 second the alarm should go off?
I itentionally set the alarm a lot higher than my current average, so theoretically the alarm should go off a LOT during a match. When I check my replays, I have numerous occasions where my current apm is <155 for more than one second, still the alarm doesn't go off in those instances, are you sure it's working correctly?
Am I the only one with that problem?

Can you add APM display ingame?

Every now and then SC2Gears can't figure out which player won a match from the replay. Is there a way to manually assign a winner to these replays so that the mutli-rep-analysis becomes more accurate?

I read the current APM values from the Windows registry where StarCraft 2 itself outputs them. It is not an average of the last second, but probably a shorter time, arbitrary chose by StarCraft 2 and not by Sc2gears. If you hear the alert too few times, then simply increase the alert value.
One thing to note here though: StarCraft 2 outputs APM values in game time. Sc2gears automatically converts them to real time APM if you didn't disable the "Convert game time to real time" feature in the Analyzer settings. So if you disabled that feature, you have to provide the APM alert limit in game time.
(just leave everything as default => convert game time to real time, and you don't have to bother with game time anywhere).

The lack of proper winner detection can be due to 2 things: -Sc2gears was not able to parse all the actions till the end of the game -or StarCraft 2 did not record the player leave actions.
The first one can be fixed in a future update if you send me the replay.

Is it just me or does SC2 Gears use a really large amount of memory? It seems to be using 900meg of virtual memory size in process explorer.
I've had a low memory problem once before and increase my virtual memory paging file size to a couple gig to counter it but would it mean sc2gears is using ram space when its just opened? So would it be better to start SC2 before starting SC2Gears so that SC2 uses ram 1st or something?
Running on Windows 7 64bit all latest updates, nvidia g-card, intel chipset.

These info are not present from where the APM is read from (it's the Windows registry NOT the memory).

Running on Windows 7 64bit all latest updates, nvidia g-card, intel chipset. Sc2gears is started in a way that it's maximum memory usage is limited to 512MB. That means under no circumstances can it use like 900 MB. If you just start it in the background (and disable the image preloading), it should use something like 40 MB. If you use it to analyze replays and multi-analyse mass replays, the memory usage might go up to 100 or 200 MB depending on how many internal analyzers you opened.
These values were also tested on Win 7 64 bit.
Here is a description of what the columns mean: What do the Task Manager memory columns mean?

example.cmd:
Sc2gears.exe StarCraft II.exe

I've tried that in notebook, then name it SCII.bat and then launch it with Blizzard Launcher. Is that totaly wrong? Cause SC2 runs but sc2gears wont.

Thanks for all the updates! This is such a cool tool.

thank you for keeping this updated! :D

is there a way to fade out days where i didnt make any games in the apm/win ratio development?
|
Hey Dakota thanks for the patch, but I must still ask again for a feature i've been asking for a while.
Please make a "Winner Indicator" for the dynamic rename values. This would help immensely.
You could, in a matter of minutes, sort through all your losing games and include them in multi-replay analysis and try to find losing trends and all kinds of stuff. This is a real thing.

Amazing <3
Always nice updates.

It could look like a W or L letter in the filename, taken from the Point Of View of the person using Sc2Gears and saves (is that possible? Maybe have it ask your playername at start then just string compare ? sounds easy)
Then you could instantly sort through all your replays for wins and losses.
Don't make it a player parameter tho please. ( I mean don't have a "list player" dynamic value that puts a W after the winner's name. That's not at all easily sortable) Just have it as a self-contained value so we can decide where in the filename we want it.
Thanks in advance, your program is very good.
