Laptop keyboards like this usually have a FN-lock key aswell, you might find it if you look harder!

Hello Starcraft 2 Beta players!
I think that Protoss was the most balanced,the most polished race pre-patch 9.
They didn't have anything OP in any means.
My thougts were like "OK,P is ok,so they should adjust T and Z to P."
But now P is nerfed(again) and Terran is buffed.
I am a Zerg player and I really don't like playing ZvT,because I get banshee rushed or they throw MMM at me,Thors and Hellions are nice too...
Zerg is the most boring race,we have no cool special abilities besides Spawn Larva making us really strong even when we loose entire army because we can rebuild it very quickly.
I started to play random before patch 9 just to have fun,I rolled Terran for the first time.. It was easy. I played versus Protoss bronze or silver... I don't know ANY BO for Terran. I just knew that Marauders are counter to pretty much everything,dip in some ghosts and You're ok to go.
Instead of ghosts I put Marines and Banshees. Worked REALLY well against Zealot+Sentry+Immortal.
I had no problems with resources,maybe maintaining all those Supply Depots was hard...
I continued to play Random.
Rolled Protoss vs Terran.
Again won,used the same strat as my enemy from last game,but I had Stalkers too. That Terran made Marauders+Marines+Tanks... I just rolled over him.
I would die if not forcefielding the ramp and gathering forces.
From that You may think "Ok,so it's balanced!"
No it's not. I just got lucky that this guy didn't go Ghosts or Banshees.
In the higher tier of gaming (top 10 platinium in division for example) they wouldn't forget about Ghosts or Banshees.
I think that MULE is a bit of overpowered.. I mean it makes You not need to get an expo.. For pretty long time.
Back to being Zerg.
ZvP is the BEST matchup I play.
I really enjoy playing versus Protoss,because they need to show some micro,not much but atleast SOME.
And I try new tacticts with them too,I feel like playing vs Protoss is really teaching me how to play in common sense. Scouting is important (You don't want to end getting destroyed by mass stalkers when You went for mutas and have like 2x less of them..)
Though it's boring. I can't jump cliffs. My Roaches can't even go UNDER ROCKS. So they're some special rocks? I thought ground holds bilions of rocks.
That makes no sense.
I think that ONLY one building should restrict roaches from going under it:
Burrowed Supply Depot.
It's pretty logical,isn't it?
I really like the mobile defence... It makes it more versalite,but I still can't use it in my front like without creep;be it slow speed or not being able to burrow without creep...
Zerg lacks early game harass unit.
(Unless You don't wall up or enemy went for some kind of fast pool cheese)
I can live without early harass unit...
But what about mid? Late?
Many T will build turrets,so small squadron of Mutas can only flap with their wings and go home.
Corrupters.. They have REALLY nice ability to disable buildings... Turrets are here,again..
But massed they can be threat;used propely (Corrupt Turrets then production buildings) and then push... Won push=won game,Zerg gets fresh units really fast and Your enemy can't even lift up his thumb.

TL;DR
Game seems to be REALLY good. But it needs REALLY big tweaking right now.
Leave Protoss,do something about Terran so 3/4 of games is not MMM or Banshee/Marine and Zerg needs to be a lot more versalite.
By the way I thought that the Zerg are fast,dangerous,quick but rather weak in low numbers...

right now the ghost is more effective than HTs and you get them way faster out than P HTs and you dont need any upgrades to use them.

i would like it if feedback would have at least more range than EMP. its way easier to EMP than feedback and T isnt really microing anything during the fight. EMP+STIM and lets see. P needs to feeback Ghosts (gl to feeback 4 ghost between 80Marauders and some medivacs) drop HTs out of Prism, Guardian shields and starting to FF and then PSI and if you didnt splitted your army or have some keyunits on the same place you are dead anyway.

the only way to win PvT seems to be early aggression or hidden Colossus, because a T can mass vikings so fast its ridiculous and 1 Colossus gets sniped so fast by Marauders that it doesnt make any sense to attack with 1 Colossus (unless you went for some 1 Base Timingattack).

I dont know how to explain but i think its way easier to win TvP if both are equal bad/decent skilled players and the P will have it easier if both are equal good skilled players.

the only thing that doesnt make any sense for me is that T builds 2 Units and i need 4 to have an equal chance to win and same goes for PvZ. all i face is hydra/roach and if the game is longer than 15min or something they just press the Broodlord aka i win button.

imo the biggest problems are marauders and roaches just change HP/Attack of these units. immortals are fine imo i dont build them and if i build them, i build them just to counter roaches/marauders. P has other units that are more effective against anything else, expect these 2, massable, OP units.

For T mech i would like to see first Tanks for 150/75 or 150/100.
For Z i would like to see that spawn larva would just produce 3 Larvas.
For P i would like to see a Cooldown for FF, like HTs have, so that you can just throw 10 FF down at once, if you have 10 sentrys.


Feedback has more range than EMP already, and the fact that you can spawn with enough energy for a storm coupled with warp-in makes them EXTREMELY strong.

T needs to get cloak once P gets high templars, or obs+ht will just kill your ghosts nonstop - which is absolutely fine btw, I don't mind getting cloak.

Also, I think you are exaggerating a bit how easy it is to micro T armies - running a move into colossi and storm isn't good :p Spreading marauders, casting EMP and focus firing vikings is a decent bit of work.


Actually EMP has 10 range, while feedback has 9, so if you're targetting in front of the HT, you should be able to launch an EMP.

No. It's showing that the patcher is erroring somewhere deep and the Visual Studio Just-In-Time (my ass it is) debugger is launched. The patcher handles this error by starting over, causing the same thing to happen.

Sweet that two fully charged infestors now can kill a nexus with their 16 infested terrans: 8-1=7 dps, 2*8*7dps*20s=2240dmg.

3 infestors can kill all the drones + the nexus with 2 fungals + infested terrans.

If one could make it very micro intensive it would work. It worked in sc1 with vultures why wouldn't it work with hellions?


They are already micro intensive vs for example speedlings. Vultures did not aoe.


Somewhat micro intensive but not as much as I'd like them to be. Now it's more like if you have hillions in low numbers vs speedlings you get owned, but if you get pretty many you just roast them. There isn't that feeling of running around and dodging as much as in BW.

That's not true; the FN key triggers the various macrobuttons (stuff like turning off display, sleep mode, etc). The F keys do their various tasks without a modifier.

Is anyone else having an issue with the patch loading? For some reason mine goes through a quick run through of all the patches and once its done it just closes......Does anyone know how to possibly fix this?

yeah those were sooo OP, im glad the only somewhat viable strat is sitting back and massing roaches and hydras again!
