Wait, they didn't fix the Planetary Fortress?
If you have a good reason to disagree with the above, please tell me. Thank you.

...
Oh please. Typical Zerg late game strategy: make mass hydras = automatic win

Doesnt work for me. But im gold league only. I can imagine how this would work smoothly in platinum. lol.

Protoss is going to be able to expand pretty quickly now. Stalkers will be able to hit and run vs marauders earlygame, so you can widdle down their force as you retreat just like goons did in BW. There is now absolutely no reason to get more than 1 zealot earlygame PvT. I think we'll see a lot more tanks being used TvP (or thors) simply because of the difficulties of making marauder pressure effective. If you combine early expansion for protoss with marauder spam for T, protoss will have lots of templar with storm or collosi and chargelots to deal with it. Mass mara is going to be a losing game now I feel, which is good.

On the other hand, TvZ is still a concern for me. There still seems to be no answer to mass roach other than the marauder. Marines with medivacs do alright, but banelings/infestors are just as problematic as before. I really wanted to see the roach changed in a much much different way.

Regardless, I think it's a step in the right direction. At the least ZvZ and TvP will possibly open up to more dynamic strategies.

I think zerg in particular will have problems against terran, with the hydra nerf especially. MMM will be difficult to stop.

They need to buff ultras and bring back lurkers.

Actually the nerf of roaches might make Marauders be less important at least in this one matchup. Players might (ofc thats wide speculation now) rather save that gas for making tanks or thors.
Also, having to spend so much ressources in TvP would at least cost u a marauder or a ghost and I think most fights there are kinda close anyways.

Btw its not like they translated just hydra from BW and nerfed it. They also gave them like roflcopter damage and moved them to T2. Other than SCV, that just lost 15 hp.
When they were introduced, he made a witticism, hoping to be liked. She laughed extremely hard, hoping to be liked. Then each drove home alone, staring straight ahead, with the very same twist to their faces.

Make roaches do slightly less damage and give tier 2 tech so they can become lurkers. Remove fungal growth for Dark Swarm.

I can dream.

Ugh........

Ugh is right lmfao...You guys are overestimating the effect of the nerf, and definitely took hydralisks power in the midgame for granted.

Yup, the hydra nerf is going to hurt, but honestly hydras are still one of the highest DPS units in the game for a bargain bin price.

I see it as a step in the right direction(hopefully) and welcome the changes to roach and marauder. About the void ray, we'll see.

Why oh why does Protoss only have one viable tech route?

Terran now has Bio, Tech and Air, all extremely viable.

Protoss has Robo, that's it.

Hint: the word starts with an M-

Roaches still DO have a range attack....

that micro thing u talk about is negated by those hexagonal semi transparent things.

I would sign this right now! Most of the maps are imba as hell! And I think that the Yellow Minerals are also imba because toss cant expand that much so Terran and Zerg can profit from that way more than toss can.

Nice patch for P I think. Think they need to do something way more drastic with the whole game balance or something though, seems a bit stale already. Heh.

Void Ray got rebalanced, not nerfed, what are you all smoking. Its initial damage is now much much larger.

Then 2v2 would be impossible for toss. As you need super fast force field in order to stop some of the rushes.

yeah, but it stays in phase 1 post patch for the same amount of time it took to reach phase 3 prepatch which is mathematically the same as having 2 identical phases before reaching phase 3

Good thought, but then ling rushes need to be fixed =X
Bronze skipping straight to Diamond in 40 games retail release. Bnet 2.0 ladder really takes it's sweet time to think about that league placement.

Welll...as a Silver-levl Protoss player, I selfishly like the Zerg nerfs. PvZ at that that level is probably a little too hard at the moment, since, as others have said, Protoss needs to use a lot of micro just to effectively deal with Zerg Roach-Hydra a-move. Other than that, the Void Ray nerf/buff I think is a step in the right direction, to making the Void Ray more generally useful as a support unit, though I don't know how whether this will really be enough.

Marauder nerf is necessary, and for the good of Terran-funness more than anything else; though I've always thought that the Marauder needed a general hp/damage nerf more than it did the removal of the slow ability. And the buffs to Terran mech, while perhaps too slanted in the Thor's direction, are also good to see. Terran-mech-with-bio-backup is becoming more and more effective by the patch...
