Hi all, does anyone else have the gameplay freeze for a few seconds every 10 minutes or so? Sometimes the audio will skip and loop too while it's frozen.
It only last a few seconds, then the game 'catches up' and goes fast to get to the current time, if that makes sense? It's annoying but not enough to get in the way of playing, then again it's not done it during a battle yet... It does the same in replays too?
Basic specs of my machine are
2.4Ghz Pentium 4 2Gb RAM GeForce 8600GT Audigy sound
It's low end spec for the game, but I play on low settings.
Anyone had the same? I dont think it's battle.net lag because like I say it does it during replays too.
Cheers

It's definitely a problem with your system specs and not Bnet lag. A 8600GT should be able to run it fine and the only other problem I see is your single core Pentium 4. Unless you upgrade, that single piece of hardware will bottleneck your gaming experience.
Argh, I don't want to post after getting to 1337 posts >_>

procesor overheating check the temps mb u had some crappy thermal paste (or just too old ) cpu ? removing dust can also be helpfull ;P

There's probably nothing wrong with your system specs or processor temperature.
You likely have some task running every 10 minutes or so which consumes a lot of resources or creating a bottleneck. It could be something like your virus scanner or an auto-updater running every 10 minutes or something stupid like your wireless card scanning for networks or your CD-ROM drive being mounted. There's really no way to tell without further information.
Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the task manager. Start killing processes and see what happens. Hopefully you will be able to find the offending process if one exists.

No.. I have exactly the same graph card on my other computer and it freezes in the same way. After some time the whole game starts lagging incredibly much, like 10 FPs. Sometimes it goes away after 20 secs sometimes not..

I don't think it's PC problem since I tried so many things and nothing helped

Interesting to see here and in Strikers post how many people are having the same problem. Exactly the same.
I'll look at processes TossFloss cheers, didnt think of that either.

I'll let you know how I get on Striker, if any of us get it sorted it will help out a lot of people!
I just learned from reading your thread that you can play AI !? How? I'm off to find out....

Im pretty sure that it has something to do with Nvidia graph cards. Most of us have Nvidia(most of us has the 8xxx collection) and we all experience the exactly same thing.
The bad part for me is taht the beta doesnt work at all on my other computer lol.
Striker, please let us know if they say something. Did you try downgrading your nvidiga drivers? I might do it today, but dno hw it will affect the other games i play

Gridlock: Create Game --> Chose Map --> Then you have button on the upper right side of Table with player in game (Add A.I) so add it. :D That's all.
EmIL: I never upgraded to their newest. I tried that drivers they recommended but I got BSOD at the SC2. Then I downgraded but I think it was 2 same versions of drivers. Maybe I tried it with the same drivers. Still it's drivers they recommended.

I'm having the exact same problem.
3.333 GHz 2.50 GB of RAM ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series Realtek HD Audio Output
For anyone wondering the minimum requirements are:
PC Minimum Requirements: • Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7 • 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor • 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7 • 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card • 1024x768 minimum display resolution • 4 GB free hard space (Beta) • Broadband connection

same here with ATI Radeon HD 3850
tried all kind of drivers and options, after 2 games it lacks like hell in minimal settings

I think what is happening is that the game, as is suggested in the Shader settings tooltip, is compiling shaders on the fly, causing stuttering. I've only noticed this issue personally right after I change settings, every time something new comes up. After that initial loading stage, the game runs smoothly.
Specs: 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo (T7700) Geforce 8600M GT 256MB VRAM 2GB RAM (DDR2) Windows Vista Ultimate SP1

Did anyone find anything out with this problem?

My game freezes for the first 5-10 seconds on 90% of my games.
If I look at my "build order" report, it usually says I started building my first worker as late as 12 seconds into the game. (Hey, I still won my last one with void ray/carrier spam!)
