none of the Sc2 sounds have any "snap" or the high midrange. listen to the marine firing in sc1 compared to sc2, the sc2 one sound like you are listening to it from inside a cardboard box.

all they have to do is add a some treble and high mids

I'm confused about what you mean. This is pretty much exactly how the sound in Starcraft works. Unless I'm reading what he said incorrectly.

I think they may have just gone for a more modern, compressed, sound quality. SC1 had grittier effects, but to be honest they can be a little harsh on the ears.

I actually prefer the new seige tank sound effect, and most of the sounds more than surpass my expectations coming from SC1. The Zergs need some more attention, however.

Hellions look shitty, and don't fire 360 degrees.

Vultures were at least hoverbikes.

Against anything that's not armored, the Siege Tank does more damage than it used to. Against armored targets it does 10 less in Siege Mode, and same as before in Tank Mode.

rofl I thought I didn't see the egg transition because my graphics settings were low. Kind of disappointing that even on higher settings there's no larva->egg animation.

Personally I like the dune buggy look way better than hoverbike look. As far as their mirco, I can't say since I haven't tried terran yet.

The sounds are terrible in sc2. Especially zerg. I complained in another thread but you honestly hear nothing when half the shit dies. How is it a 12 year old game has better sound than this big budget, highly anticipated title

1. i share your h8 for the Zerg "overmind"

2. the ultralisk attack sound is so wimpy. It sounds like a ninja sword...

3. Protoss leader telling you stuff sounds too Terran, needs to have a voice changer.

4. all music needs to be revamped, i used to be able to blast SC music out my speakers and loved it but now its just an omnious noise in the bg...

First thing I'm doing is ripping the Broodwar sounds and importing them into SC2. The music is decent though, I'll keep those but the unit and warning sounds have to be replaced, the majority of them don't sound right.
