Why can't I double click SC2 replays anymore?

jra64 United States104 Posts February 26 2010 01:50 GMT #1 I double clicked xxxx.sc2 replay so it would ask me what I wanted to open it with. I selected the Starcraft 2 Beta SHORCUT, which I'm now not sure if it just points to the exe or not. Anyways, all my replays now have the "Rich Text File" icons and when I double click them they give me an error message "This is not a valid Win32 application." I tried to point it directly to the exe, but I get the same thing. I notice in the 'open with' dialog box it says "Starcraft 2 Beta", but I think if you do it correctly it should say "Blizzard Launcher" or something like that. I really want to be able to just double click replays because that is so much easier. Here's a screenshot if it helps. Thank you for the help btw. + Show Spoiler + I had to retype this 3 times because when you refresh photobucket it freezes firefox -_-. Also, I know I saw a thread where other people had a problem with Starcraft 2 freezing every 20 seconds or so, but I can't find it AT ALL. Does anyone know what causes this or could just redirect me to the thread I can't find? I appreciate it, thank you very much.

wishbones Canada2600 Posts February 26 2010 01:51 GMT #2 Hahaha because you didn't get the SC2 icon when you did that "open with" thing Just drag a rep over sc2 icon from now on Hopefully someone else knows how to get the SC2 Logo to appear on rep files, even with the "open with" or Right-Click properties selections, I can not seem to get the SC2 logo to appear on rep files. Right-click properties wont work, tried it. And also using the open "with wont" work, SC2 logo on rep files never appears no matter how many time i have selected SC2 in the "open with" selection.

This seems like a pretty easy fix if it's just that I'm incompetent of how do get it back to normal. EDIT: Look around for the filetype problem or the video problem? The filetype problem I didn't find anywhere and I looked for the video problem, to no avail. Sorry, but I really couldn't find it, I don't use these board regularly though (yet) so maybe I just don't know my way around.

jra64 United States104 Posts February 26 2010 03:00 GMT #9 Thanks FrozenArbiter =). I wonder if reinstalling would fix the problem.. EDIT: FIXED! Click the menu "Tools > Folder Options" and select the "File Types" tab. Scroll down the file type list and find SC2 Replay. Click on it to select. Hit restore to take off all file types, and go to advanced, edit, manually type in the path the the starcraft exe. Okay mods can close this if the like =).
