I hope to come back with something cool to share if I can get some help finding this. :D The daily you're thinking about is #177: Simple Winning Techniques. One of those simple winning techniques is if your opponent is doing some cutesy stuff, just go f***ing kill him :D
Hey thanks man, greatly appreciated! :D

seeking advice from bw players and ex-players. how do you use hotkeys 6-0? I guess with the left index finger, but I find them increasingly hard to use as it has to stretch further and further away from the rest position. 6 is mildly uncomfortable for me, and 8-0 are impossible without looking at the keyboard. do you have some "trick" for them?

Is it me, or it the constant queen production idea for Funday Monday....really fucking good?
I just won 3 games pretty easily. Playing against Protoss, I'm amazed at how many fears it removes at a fairly low cost. A Void Ray rush was comically ineffective, and even a bunch of phoenixes couldn't get much done.
What surprised me was that, though their negligible off-creep speed limits their offensive abilities, queens are amazingly cost-effective as combat units. While not as good for DPS as a Hydra, they're cheaper, have way more HP, can transfuse, and cost 0 Larva. A player who goes mass queen shuts down a lot of harassment, but can also make more drones more safely, because he has pretty decent defensive units not costing larva. With constant queen production and a well-place spine crawler, you can drone up pretty fast in relative safety.
Not to mention getting your creep spread hyper-charged.
Granted, theorycraft theorycraft theorycraft, I'm just in Platinum. But I'm really excited by these results. I may go mass queen as standard ZvP!

As you practice moving your hand over there, a lot of it becomes muscle memory. In BW, P was probe and pylon, so after a while, making the jump from 1-5 (for army) to P became second nature. Looking down for a second isn't the end of the world, either.
Another option if you're playing on an external keyboard is to remove some keys. So if you want to use 0/9/8 keys, pop off your "-" and maybe your "+" keys. That should help you not hit the wrong keys and also provide a reference point for feeling things out.

No you are right I was watching root catz stream and he was winning against protoss using mass queen at the high masters level. Though to a certain extent it might be more of a metagame thing with people not knowing the proper response. Then again he did kill 5 or 6 carriers with 12 queens and transfuse.

Yep 8] thats the point, koreans often are making a bunch of queens early on (I try to make it so my hatcheries are constantly doing something all game [either queens or upgrades]) it is really effective.
The "fun" part of this is when you get late queens, because then constant queen production is more of a weird thing to do. Can't wait to see it unfold, but yeah most zergs these days are making 4-5 queens pretty early on regardless.
EDIT: Forgot quote =P

How to control your mouse properly (with visual examples), mouse accuracy, camera movement, hotkeys, "tapping". You know, stuff that lets you control things properly
Example: why edge scrolling with camera is bad, and what is the proper way.

It's basically a daily that teach us how to move correctly our mouse, how to use hotkey properly and how to position our hands on our desk / mouse / keyboard to enhance our gaming performance.

Like Day[9] said, you need to show it, it's very, very hard to describe it in text.

Sort of. Mass queens have always been a pretty good addition to your unit mix, as they are indeed powerful combat units. The problem with queens is that they render you unable to play aggressively. That is to say, your opponent can expand all over the entire map and you can't do much to stop them with your slow moving army. That is the reason why blizzard lowered their speed off creep - so that they would only be used defensively.
There's all sorts of things queens can beat en masse, though, including carriers.

Daily #252 was awesome, always been wondering about those things!!! Thanks a lot day9!! <3
About the part with the hotkeys i have a question tho:
In the example you had your main hatch on "5" and expansion on "6". And then with the area hotkeys you bound "F2" to your mainbase. I was wondering, does it have any advantage of using F2 to go to your mainbase instead of pressing "5" twice?

well if you have units or something that you want to send to your hatchery then you would want to press f2 since it doesnt select the hatchery it just puts your camera over it.

What about when you have 3 bases? How about 4? I have seen up to 6 bases in some Pro games. It's inefficient to hotkey them all.
What most people do instead is hotkey all CC's, Nexi and Hatcheries to same hotkey. At least, that's what I do as protoss. The benefit of this "F1/F2/F3/F4 to move to the location" is that you can easily set F2 and F3 for example as your current 2 bases that are active (or more if you have more bases). Because if all Nexi are in same hotkey, you can't use that hotkey to jump to the location of that nexus. Instead, you use the F1-F4 keys.
Remember, the location you save to F1-F4 doesn't have to be your base. It might just as well be your unit rally location, or some other place where you may want to jump on regular basis or fast.

this is what i've been experiencing. what i've thought about zvz is a roach based army with infestors to trap mutas and mass queens to finish them off, but it's too passive, and if they go roaches you're screwed.
