Anywho, i have the greatest respect for your commitment and ambition towards the SC2 scene and esports Sean, so best of luck to you and your projects. Oh and maybe you can be just a little more prudent on your future plans.

So he's basically saying he'll be diverting most/all of his income (blip.tv, youtube, ustream, parents?) towards his projects and wants to rely on donations for living expenses right? What kind of foolhardy thinking is that? Why not just ask for donations for the projects instead of trying to sound like a sacrificial hero by asking us to help keep him alive? I doubt those who have/will donate wouldn't have refused had it been for the projects themselves. Hopefully on the side there will be a donation button that will make it nice and easy for fans to donate to him. It sounds like getting this webpage up and running is his first major project of the year.

He said even if he doesent get donations his dailies (hour long shows! imagine if hbo gave away all their shows for free) will always be free which is awsome. He even declined sponsor ships for his dailies becuase he wants what he does to stay focused on improving esports. Once i start working again will deffiently be donating so Sean can stay living and do what he does best and what he loves, improving esports!

Once he has that done, he wants us to all conglomerate there to discuss what we can do to make ESports 'happen'. I actually went to college for sport management (just graduated 2 weeks ago with my BS). My reasoning, unlike everyone else in my major who wanted to work with the Yankees or Giants, was to create a competitive gaming scene based in academia, primarily high schools. Perhaps creating 'main stream' professional gaming will help that. Sean has to succed because we have to make him succeed. I know I am going to. If you are on this site at all, it means you have to believe in his vision and should help him press on too. As far as donations, come on people, its not like we are trying to pay for his Mansion in LA (I'm sure he has many nerd servants building that for free). We are simply paying to give the biggest name in SC2 time to build whatever he can. We just need to have faith that he will do it (He's gotta be the best actor of all time if has managed to fool the thousands of avid fans he has accumulated over the past year or so into thinking he's a pretty upstanding gentleman who really, REALLY loves Starcraft, perhaps more than anyone else) We just have to trust that Sean will do it right, and I for one, believe in him. If only for his magnetic personality. Business' around the world would KILL for a spokesperson like Day[9] to lead their advertising campaign. He can get the people to make it happen, all he needs is our support. Why wouldn't we at least give him a shot? I'd definately buy him some Dr. Pepper, so $5-10 isn't that big of an investment if you consider how much a change this could have on North America, maybe even the world (oh yes, exageration, but maybe no...) Also, I read in an earlier post that someone stated that ticket sales are the biggest source of income for major sports. No sir, no indeed. Title sponsorships can be up to $30 million a year, and the primariy source of money outside of that is close to ticket sales, but not quite. Its luxury boxes. Those big ass suites at the tops of arenas and stadiums. They cost six to seven digits a year. And again, before tickets, concessions. Yes, tickets help, but its not a make or break situation. One last big source of income that also comes before tickest (not including merchandies, which yes, also surpasses tickets) is the TV sponsorships for the league (broadcasting rights), which is spread evenly to each team in most major North American sports. Aaaannnd.... rant over. In a nutshell. Support Day[9] because he's the best. Give him Dr. Pepper!

Back when I played Counter-Strike at a CAL-i level my team (we were all high school friends) tried to organize a tournament at our high school. They thought it was cool at first until they realized it involved guns and violence and then we were quickly shot down. I'm not sure there can ever be a "varsity" e-Sports team as long as most games popular in e-Sports feature killing as the main objective.

Could totally be a sweet donation thing, like $5 gives you small Day[9], $20 a mid size, and $50 and up a full on life size plushie. That'd be soooo good. I'm kinda banking on high schools and such realizing that almost all entertainement media, IE movies, music, and to an extent, sports (remember the CoD Black Ops commercial that aired during basketball and football games) involves pretty brutal violence. But its not real, and the kids are playing those games anyway, so I mean, its not like their really taking that much of a stand. But I totally see your point, and its a big ass problem. Thats a large reason why I think I may have to start in colleges and see how it works as a financial success. Athletic departments in high schools around the country are getting shut down because they just don't have enough funding from the state to keep them going, so if I can make it seem profitable, I think I have a shot.

I also believe my school took issue since CS was rated "M" and a few people on the team (myself included) were under the age of 17 at the time. However since Australian video games have most of the violence cut out maybe just use those non-violent builds.
