there is no funday monday/newbie tuesday next week (the 8th and 9th) he is too busy with traveling etc he doesn't really have the time to do it all so he is just doing normal dailies but the following week he will be resuming them
Anyone else feel like #205's intro will just never be topped?
Ever since that episode I've felt like his animation was lacking in comparison. I just busted up sooo hard that Newbie Tuesday, but alas - his energy now dwindles.
Do more eccentric intros again, day[9]!! You're my hero,... I hope you know that. Now; Dance, Monkey, DANCE! :-D
Yo Sean, in the #211 daily at around the 34 minute mark where you say STX blindly walks into the 3 o'clock expansion, doesn't he throw a scan like 10 seconds earlier while pushing to the 9 o'clock expo cause the minimap fog clears up?
I'm going to try (again) to give a suggestion of a daily with analysis of a good old high level Brood War game. Looking at strategies that took years to develop and ways to translate them to SC2 would be something I personally would love to see Day do.

Strategies that took years to develop are usually because of gradual discoveries that allowed people to refine the builds, then there is a sudden "oh, I actually CAN do this now". Also, I dont think that there is very much (strategically) that can really translate to SC2. The same fundamentals apply, but what you are looking for, if I am interpreting this correctly, cant really be done.

Yeah, but it could be cool and educational if he did a daily with How BW evolved. Especially regarding the countering of some (at the time) OP strategies. It could really put some things into perspective

Yeah I saw that too. Even Day9 makes mistakes I guess.

You know, he has done something like this a few times, in a few places. The podcast he did on sidestepping featured some discussion of how protoss FE and 5 hatch hydra evolved.
I feel like I've gotten more out of these to improve my SC2 game than the dailies sometimes, mostly because they're so focused and the writing(speaking?) style is a little more coherent than some of his recent work.
Also, if you go on blip TV and look at the old dailies, they covered most of what you are talking about, it doesn't take some gigantic, magical leap to apply the basic RTS knowledge learned in BW to SC2, despite being different games.
I have a question, in last SotG podcast Day9 said that Tyler has great practicing habits unlike other players. That he plays with the idea what he should practice, and not some new BO or something. I found myself in that, if i want to "practice" i just go ladder, or try to smooth out BO vs Ai.
What exactly does he mean ? What is he practicing for example ?

He is basicly doing the same build vs the computer as he does online, so he smooths it out. When he feels it's good, he start doing it online.

I am pretty sure that it is not what he meant tbh. Thats something that most people are doing.
Their point was that he is not thinking just up to 40 food, but does the same build as every1 and then practices something in game.... but what exactly ?

They have also said that he is the type of person who can sit and play against the computer for hours just to figure out his building placements, or something like that.
Just wanted to say that after this newbie tuesday I did my 5 placement matches for 2v2 random and totally destroyed those games. I couldn't have done it without that daily. Thanks Day[9]!
