could you please do a daily sometime about timings? i find it really hard to discover the right timings to attack, maybe you can show us some tips and tricks to determine good attack timings?
He's done a few recently where he's talked about it, the one line summary is "if you're unsure whether it's a good time to attack, just do it and if you win great, if you lose at least you learnt it was a bad time to attack".
i agree, 2 partners of same race would probs do something similar anyway. could be cool to only take 1 unit and let partner have all others. or make none and just feed him resources.

ok awesome i have missed a few dailies lately since they are at 4pm or something over here...
but i allways hear people talking about timing windows in certain builds, and i'm having a lot of trouble with this. i will watch a few more dailies, thnx guys.
edit: oh and btw i did not mean a daily about what are good timings, i thought maybe he could show HOW to determine what is a good time to attack.
Gliver do you mean when he says things like "That's the money unit" and "a real money scan?". It comes from journalism "The money shot" is the photo that will earn you money because it is so important. Hence to say something is "the money" it means it's really useful and important.

Money just means "really really good" when I use it.
"Oh here's the money strategy" = here's the really really good strategy etc :D
I suppose you do need an english to day[9] dictionary when talking to me

The problem is there was no tension because you know Day9 only shows games where the people playing Funday Monday win. It would be 100 times better if Day9 occasionally showed a game like that and just when it looked like they might make a comeback they get completely owned.
I did not noe that day9 only shows wins.
Thanks, you just killed Santa Claus.
ROFL, he hasn't officially announced it or anything, but it's all he's shown so far. Maybe he really is planning to show a loss and trick us at some point?
Think you missed Uniken in the FFA 1
he basically followed that guy around all the time and he lost
UNIKEN NOOOO THE PYLON NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY WOULD YOU BACK DOWN?
My "hypothesis" is that terrans rely way too much on scans for detection and scouting, despite having the best UNITS for scouting and detection in the game. Just look at the options:
If Terrans just scouted like Protoss and Zerg, they would be SWIMMING in cash and the builds would be so much more interesting.
I would rather turn it to only depot boost from the OC
OOOOHHHHH man. Terran has all the tools to play like a Zerg and mass up really quickly. They just don't. It's easier to bail your bad macro out by throwing down a scan or mule. If they just scouted properly like every other race they would be rocking (my pet theory).

Well.. in addition, try not to attack without a reason. The most basic reasons to do a "timing attack" are an upgrade having just finished, or starting an expansion.

-like the first reply said, just attack and if you lose than you know that's a bad time. -also day9 has said things like you don't want units standing around doing nothing so if you have a large army you can fake an attack, break destructible rocks that favor your position, poke, establish map control, or just plain attack. -scouting of course plays a huge role. if your opponent has expanded a lot, but doesn't have an army to protect all the expansions then it's a good time to attack. if he's sitting on one base he's probably planning something to attack you..
Thought it was pretty funny how he kept pronouncing Magelion like Magellan and then acting like he's a wise philosopher when it's probably Mage-Lion, like a lion that's a wizard.
