So yesterday I was perusing my battle.net account page randomly and noticed that I could download the HOTS beta. I thought that strange as a few weeks ago that option was not there and I had not received an email from Blizzard telling me I had beta access (I had even been checking my junk folder during that time). So out of curiosity I downloaded the beta and I could log in and play! So in conclusion, check your my account page at battle.net to see if you can play the beta!

I can download the client, which I did and I installed it. It is asking me for a beta key. Is there somewhere that shows my beta key? Am I allowed to download the beta even if I don't have a key?

You have to be kidding me. I just pre-ordered yesterday from Gamestop, got the beta code (plugged it into battle.net), downloaded the client, then tried to login and it keeps telling me I don't have the right region.

So some select people not pre-ordering are getting beta access and then I, pre-ordering, can't. *sigh* Blizzard.

haha, this is weird, I checked my profile and it does say HoTS beta in my games (along with one WoL standard edition instead of the 2 i had for SEA and NA). Downloading right now

Wow, thanks for posting this! I also have beta access and was not notified. I am downloading the client right now.

EDIT: Yeah, I can download the client, but I can't log in and play the beta. I also can't post on battle.net HotS beta forums because may account doesn't have access.

You can download it, but you will get the "region error".

I just noticed that in my account as well. However, from the pre-order access expanded page: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/8218587/

Please keep in mind that although anyone can download this client, only players who have obtained beta access will be able to log in.

I remember with the WOL Beta I recieved a key in the email linked to my account. I'm waiting until March this time though, have a busy schedule ahead.

you may need to select SC-2 instead of SC-1 (I don't remember exactly how it looks like on the login screen, but there's a dropdown menu I have to switch to 2 when doing HOTS and 1 when doing WOL)

I just checked and I appear to have beta access as well. I tried to select SC-1 and SC-2 though and they both say I can't play.

It appears that I have access too. I was looking for it last week, so its new. Also they have merged all WOL version in one item (used to be one for each region + PTR). So thank-you for the information.

Yeah, I just checked my account the other day, and the HotS beta was on it. I never received an email. However, when I try to log in now, it says that "your account has no game accounts that can be used in this region." It's pretty bizarre, frankly.

Mine says that I don't have the right region also, but just hit ok and you should be able to log in anyways. That's a bug that cropped up a few weeks ago, IIRC.
