When will blizzard realize that they should try out shit with other units than the infestor?

all the passion iI regained with patch 8 is gone already. what the hell blizz.

Next patch: "We have given the old Vortex back to the Mothership, so that Protoss players can better combat Brood Lords in the late game." Or next patch: we have stopped releasing patch notes because people continuously cry about every change the minute it comes out. They don't bother to wait a few weeks for the meta game to develop or to pay attention to changes that are being tested for the BETA unless they buff their race or nerf a race they are having problems against (probably b/c they misunderstand the matchup). TLDR: People have ZERO patience.
Most people just don't want to see the reign of the infestor back. It's not a balance question. It's just that they have the occasion to nerf heavily the infestor so it's not use that much anymore and buff everything else. That is even where they were going. But noooo, they have to change it back.

Probably pushing the release date of this game back to 2018. I don't have *that* much patience.
I'm not sure if you realize this, but sometimes balance can't be absolutely determined in a couple days time. In bronze league and above, a thing called the "meta game" must develop and new strategies are often created which can turn the tides instantly. All of us aren't omnipotent like you so we are forced to have patience.
Edit: Damn...wasted 400th on that

voidrays, tempests/templar. Very very strong composition. If zerg is turtling to that deathball then toss will go to his deathball and will win (the ninja carrier buff is really good also voidrays wtf pwn corruptors now and tempests wtf pwn broodlords while templar storm/feedback).
Also again even with corruptors range 12 (or is it 15?) with tempests make it so corruptors can't attack into the army unless he fully commits in which toss can keep going back or just use his templar.

Unless you have an explanation for how the infestor buff is actually a nerf in disguise, it's safe to say that you're wrong. This "Mete game" apparently shifts over months and even years, but the blizzard design team has to address current issues. It might be possible that battlecruiser, reaper, missile turret is actually a counter to infestors, but if we have to wait a year for it to start happening, then the game is hardly balanced in the meantime.

Well I've played maybe 6 or 7 PvZ's since the patch and only a few of them have tried going Infestors, it seems possibly even stronger than WoL. After they land one on you It's not difficult at all to chain fungal, and the speed of the projective makes it pretty easy to land the initial fungal. Only blink stalkers have any chance of avoiding it really. I'll be trying some turtle into sky protoss stuff instead of 3 base timing attacks now I suppose, attacking into 10 range infestors is really tough.

Day9 once described (as a joke) zerg air vs protoss air as a game of "rock paper". Well, with the tempest and the new void ray, that might not be so ridiculous anymore.

Banelings that fly.
That is the answer to mass Muta ZvZ. No seriously, a lair level upgrade that allows burrowed banelings explode out of the ground and up into the air to cause air splash damage.
Not only would this be a cool looking solution, but spectators would be so freaking ecstatic to see if the group of Mutas get caught underneath the banelings as they fly by.
You think i'm kidding but i'm not. Give them a higher splash radius when launching into the air, 3 burrowed banelings = 20 dead mutas that are stacked. Make it so as the banelings explode out the ground, they take .5 seconds or something in that area to gain enough altitude to detonate so that the muta player can instantly react and save a few of his muta/not lose all of them.

Now try to imagine TvZ, vikings have 9 range and now investors out range them...

Actually, you're probably right. Most P players haven't yet realized how good Void Rays are.

Unless you can't read, you would know that Blizzard explicitly stated that this was a buff to the most recent state of the infestor.

I second that.
It takes a lot to upset me. I'm upset, David Kim and disappointed.
There is nothing to a turtle T or P can do to stop a mid game mass infestor/swarm host transition from mass muta pin. Not even forward widow mine positioning/marine/ghost/tank (standard US Army defensive composition used in Cold war)
If blizzard's internal testing team have some kind of counter unit comp that can deal with this, they should post if now. or I'm done with this game.

Yeah, sorry about that, literacy costs too much money.
A completely unneeded and unnecessary buff. To solve ZvZ, nonetheless. So many balance issues there that need to be worked out by the metagame. And in the meantime, it'll have absolutely no effect on the other matchups, because let's be honest, nobody ever uses infestors there.

They increased the range and the speed of the PROJECTILE. Yes, FG is still a projectile. That means it is no longer instant cast. While the most recent patch makes infestor better than it was just before, it is still far from as good as originally intended. People see 10 range and they then continue to cry b/c they somehow think this is a buff to the infestor overall when it is clearly not.
