Limiting the number of players that can be in a clan is terrible... There should be no limit.
I'm the leader of a clan with 300 members. What am I supposed to do? Pick who gets tag and who doesn't?
I plan on voicing my opinion to Blizzard and I hope all of you other clans do the same.

It's kinda similar to that limit they had as to how many people you could block. Why these unnecessary restrictions- it doesn't make it better.

It limits the amount of data you can store, as a single user, on BNet. The limits are lower than they should be, but at least they're there for a reason.

The limits on blocks, channels, friends and now clan make me think that there must be something about Bnet that doesn't respond very well to large groups.

The limit is because they want to differentiate Groups (infinite) from Clans, in a functionally way .. but 50 is way too low, for my clan i need at least a 75.

Kinda odd, WC3 had a 100 player limit for clans. If they were to have a limit, why halve it from WC3? I guess they thought that if a clan goes above a certain point, it loses the more communal clan functionality and becomes a more impersonal group, which is a fair point. Even in WC3 we had clans that went over 100 player limits, which ended up producing branching clans of the same group, so I'm not too concerned. Perhaps "groups" could also accommodate multi-clan groups of people.

The 50 players limit and such also exist for Guilds in wow, I think it's just to manage all the data properly. The amount can be adjusted though later down.

It's really nice. I hope to see it getting developed further then this though. A clan ladder and emblem would be pretty nice.

I'm pretty sad about this. It seems implied that the chat, and everything in relation to your clan is actually private. I know by experience that on NA there are multiple "hidden" channels where tons of pro players idle together and ask for games randomly throughout the day. However, you'll never be able to idle in someone's clan channel because it's private to those only in the clan.

I was basically hoping that a clan channel would allow you to have Ops over that channel to dictate who could and couldn't come into the channel like BW, but it seems like they just didn't think of this at all; or maybe, they just expect you to deal with everyone and go make custom chat groups yourself... ugh... need Ops for channels, though this is definitely a good start!

Clans are awesome, but I'm more excited about groups. Should help promote the more social aspect for the wider fan base. Anything to keep SC2 alive and flourishing!

It is likely due to limits of how much data b.net is fetching when you load up your clan list. Xbox live has the same issue with friends. If you have over 30 friends, it takes for fucking ever to load your friends list. I don't want an unlimited member limit if it makes the the whole system run like shit.

WoL is getting the same treatment, everyone will have the same UI even if they don't buy HotS.
