Also, have you guys noticed they always appear on the final mission of each section? Zero Hour(top), the last mission in Mar Sara, Maw of the Void, the last mission in Artifacts, and Piercing the Shroud, the last mission in Rebellion, and Ghost of a Chance, the last mission in Covert. Only one i havent found is supposedly in Haven's fall by my guess. Also, it could be that there are more Tauren hidden in Breakout, All-in, and Safe Haven...
Will try this and look for tauren ^^

When you're looking at the Feats of Strengths Menu, you have the Option to sort them by "All" and by "has Reward". So maybe it does have something to do with the Feats of Strength.

Edit: unneccesary quotation interresting

I'm quite sure this is a reference to WoW and how you can't get full reputation with a faction. Caps out at 999/1000. Either way, I'm quite sure it's intentional by Blizzard to not go to 100% and not some silly mistake. They usually don't do mistakes that would be this obvious.

I'm sure they would have patched it by now if it wasn't intentional

For example take a look at
http://us.battle.net/sc2/static/images/source/achievements-1-75.jpg
on the 3rd column over and the 8th row down.
Now look at http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/profile/837245/1/Revast/achievements/category/3211281 (not my achievements page.) Notice how that the icon from battle.net is missing from the Rebellion list and is out of place. All of the other icons around it are from the Rebellion missions. The icons to the left and right of the "extra" icon are both from Media Blitz.
Stands to reason (or maybe not) that the extra icon from the battle.net image is for a secret achievement in the Media Blitz mission.
Update: I haven't been able to find any other extra icons, but I haven't been particularly thorough.
Final Update (then I should do things like a productive person): It looks an awful lot like the cloak symbol. Maybe kill a particular something in Media Blitz with a cloaked unit? Or call down a nuke with a cloaked unit? Or hold one of the communication towers with a cloaked unit?
|
@castlewise if that may lead to anything it should be more like: snipe the cloaked unit
|
@gris.pl
Good one. Someone should scour the map with ravens. Maybe there is a cloaked easter egg or some special unit hidden somewhere.
|
Anyone else have any leads on this? The sniper retical over the cloak icon is an interesting find, Definitely need to scour the map for any hidden cloaked units. It's an easy map to do so on, as you can just clean out all the bases and leave the sensor towers while you look around. Maybe they had an achiev for killing the sci facility but removed it to make it more secret?
|
I didn't have ravens but I made about 20 command centers than just scanned all over the map. Didn't find anything. I also killed every destructible doodad I could find. Trees, statues, stop signs, stop lights, etc. I couldn't figure out any way of killing the civilians other than nuking them, so I also made like 10 ghost academies and then just nuked every civilian on the map. Nothing.
I was running out of ideas related to what I could do with cloaked units, so finally I just took 3 spectres and cloaked each one, placed them on the platforms, and waited. No detectors came so I finished the uploads without any combat involved at all. Still nothing. So idk.

@monad what difficulty were you running?
|
casual, lol. i always do testing stuff on casual. i wouldn't think there would be a difficulty requirement for a secret achievement, but i guess you never know. you can unlock the secret mission, for example, on casual.
|
yeah, but the other mission achievements all require normal or hard ...
|
Not the first one. The first one of the three is always on any difficulty.
|
uhh, why doesn't someone just extract the mission file from the mpq and data mine the achievement trigger from it...?
|
I don't know, why don't you?
|
I'm at work - I'll take a look when I get home
|
@monad: True.
Another way of getting more information is to try to mine battle.net. Maybe there is a clever way to get at the text description of the achievement. (I found the above images by inspect source code.)
