what happens if you work out , but dont intake any protein
the muscle breaks down, then doesnt rebuild? or does it rebuild but with less-than-perfect materials? etc
i ask because i have no money atm and only have potatoes to live off :x
potatos contain protein
but if u dont get enough and work out a lot, your muscles will get smaller as your body disassembles them to repair other muscles

what kind of stuff do I need to eat, if I want to get ripped Like, I want to build muscle, and whatnot.
Canned Tuna like mad? Potatoes too?
One of my friends (he's at a gym) he used to eat 5 times/day the same meal: Tuna, Rice, and Potatoes. ;o.

it doesn't really matter low fat high nutrition is good once u choose something stick with it

Sorry to keep bothering. But what kind of stuff is low fat nutrition?.
I suck at this. I don't even know what a carbohydrate is -_-;

ok there are 3 basic types of calories for your body. fat, carbohydrate, protein
fat can be stored in the body for later use, it's a good source of fuel for doing work. your body can burn fat for energy.
carbohydrates are also an energy source, but this source is used directly in your muscles. they are the primary energy source when working the muscles. the energy is in the form of glycose, and when it burns up it takes a while to restore.
protein is the building block of the fibers your muscles are made out of. when you destroy muscles tissue(such as is the goal of working out), you need more protein to repair them.
low fat high nutrition would be like veggies, lentils, whole grains... stuff with lots of vitamins and minerals but not much fat.
you actually can eat a high fat diet and look ripped but it's a harder thing to do imo.
|
to get protein i just drink protein milkshake OR say 2 litres of milk. i know its only 60-80 grams though and making up another 50+ with food is reasonably difficult. i would be prepared to drink twice as much protein shake after a workout if i could afford it (if i knew it made a substancial difference to intake >~80g protein rather than a small difference).

The vitamins and minerals in whole foods is great. Stuff like calcium for stronger bones and teeth and vitamin E for better skin... I never realised how much it mattered until I changed my diet and found my eczema going away.

That seems like a "hard" ab routine ;O.
The dude at the end was tired ahhaha. I'm doing just bycicle a LOT, like 500reps/day ;p. (I can do like 80~100 in one sitting)

If you want to bulk up and gain muscle first of all find out how many calories you need to maintain your body weight. Say the number is 3000, your going to now eat 3,500 calories per day. (You can monitor your calories on a calorie counting website so you get the idea).
Take in about 1g to 1.5g protein for each lb you weigh, so if you weigh 150lbs you should be taking 150g - 200g protein per day. Eat a meal 5 or 6 times a day to spread out the protein intake.
Good sources of protein include: eggs Cans of Tuna Fish Boneless, skinless chicken Steak Lean Hamburger lobster shrimp turkey protein powder (for protein shakes)
(note: due to mercury content in fish/tuna i wouldnt have these things more than 2-3 times a week)
some other healthy foods that are good to eat are: fruit brown rice whole grain bread natural peanut butter oats granola yogurt potatoes veggies almonds
for drinks i would stick to: milk water (drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated especially if your working out a lot)
basically you want to keep your fat intake pretty low under 150g or so so avoid crap like chips and chocolate and candy. Sugar will come from the fruit.
Combine a healthy diet with weight training split 3-5 times per week. As long as you follow your diet, get enough protein, get 8 hours of sleep a night and work out hard then you'll gain muscle.

Yeah, that's mostly what I've doing.
I'm having hard time avoiding soda tho. T_T; Fucking hard. I still drink lots and lots of water, and workout hard. I eat healthy too :D

doesn't happen, overal you'd have to burn fat. unless you want to pay for it to be removed...

Can't spot reduce fat mate, your friend will just have to lose some weight and any extra muscle is going to help him burn more energy throughout the day. If he tries doing a ton of core exercise it will probably even make him look bigger because the muscle will just push the fat outwards.
