Might be a window for some competitors to grow and force FMs hand on improvements.

He should move somewhere where he gets to be first name on the team sheet

It doesn’t help that Slott seems to like his midfielders to be good all-rounders and do a job at 6 rather than a lover of a specialist there.

They are a good team, but to play kids vs a championship side and have just like 2 senior players on bench is wild, he should win the league and has a good go in the cup vs Newcastle but that was an embarrassing way to go out to a very poor Plymouth side lol

Jones would've made the difference as Elliott dropping deep and not being a great progressive passer meant less service to the forwards. While we can argue Slot was arrogant in his approach with regards to the squad selection, in reality the quality on the pitch should've been more than enough to beat Plymouth. Ultimately, most of the blame should go to the players. In the end, losing here isn't the biggest deal to me honestly because now we have critical breaks in March for our run in the EPL/UCL, which we would have prioritized heavily over the FA Cup anyways. It's give and take, and I'm also happy people can shut up about a quad charge now.

Good new manager, players are really playing for him. Those are tough teams for anyone to face. The Championship is no joke for a team made of bench players who aren't playing 90 minutes every week together. Its really easy to underestimate what is needed to beat a side who have just discovered winning again and are confident, even if there's a big quality difference.

I mean it sucks don’t get me wrong, but it has been the direction of travel for a fair while now I wonder if the big boys take the League Cup more seriously these days because of how it’s fixed in the calendar. It’s earlier, concludes earlier, fewer games and you can build momentum and get that confidence boost. Whereas the FA Cup comes later, and you’re adding games into the business end of the other competitions.

And those teams are probably best-placed, not in contention elsewhere, not at risk of relegation. Forest haven't won an FA cup since the 1950s (Thanks to Roger fucking Milford - but that's a story for us old 'uns to reminisce about). We're now the highest ranked team left in it. Let's go Forest win yourselves some silverware!

But it would mean that much more if it was a tournament everyone was busting a gut to win. Not being a curmudgeon or anything, just think it’s a shame
