I did a quick check and it would be around 70€ per month a minimum for watching both premier league and champions league from tv here. It's a lot of money over 12months.

I think I can get three or four streaming services with for the same price as the channel that shows premier league here in Finlans. National team football is on the same package but champions league or europa league won't be so I'd have to get another package for those. Same for the domestic football. The tv broadcasts are pricing themselves out of the market it feels. It’s a tricky one in the UK , BT Sport’s foray and strategy into loss-leading and pulling people into the BT ecosystem have inflated things quite considerably. For the consumer this isn’t exactly ideal, as per usual with bigger TV deals the clubs have spent accordingly to keep competitive and along with the effects of the pandemic, dropping down to a lower rate in the future could be horrendous. These kind of bulk packages across multiple platforms aren’t ideal for one’s pockets, on the other hand an alternative where games are doled out individually and TV money goes to the clubs by a proportion of demand would quickly gut the competitiveness of the Premier League. Hopefully smart heads can prevail, it does feel that the market has peaked as per traditional TV viewing, but a reversion to the market value along with Covid related economic issues would crush a lot of clubs. Giving clubs more freedom to sell their own games would give the bigger clubs an unassailable economic advantage as things stand. I’m not sure about elsewhere but at least in the UK the viewing figures of the Champions League are pretty terrible until we hit the latter stages, and usually need an English presence there to really fill them up. This isn’t such a big deal for BT as it’s part of a strategy to get people onto other BT services, but certainly would be for other potential bidders in the future. Makes me baffled by the proposed changes to the Champions League, the Champions League doesn’t have the novelty factor it did in the 90s, where it was the place to see these European teams strut their stuff. It doesn’t have the level of competitiveness it did either at the ro32 stage. Even Ferguson’s early United title winning teams had a difficult time back then. Adding more games, dead rubbers and little sense of jeopardy to a competition that already has problems in this regard already makes little sense to me. Not just because it bores me but the viewing figures rather indicate it’s very much not me sitting alone in that camp.

At the moment you have to pay in the UK; £30 for BT Sport for champions league/Europa league and some premier league games £25 for Premier league on sky sports including international football Amazon get some games now too which i already have prime but that is £70 a year i think too? So all in all to watch the premier league you are paying £60 odd a month to have access to it all.

I am just hoping Amazon gets off its ass now and flexes its stupid billions and puts both Sky and BT in their place and takes everything. The Saturday 3pm broadcast limitation is such a stupid rule in my eyes. I don't think many clubs in the top flight would see more empty seats if all those games were broadcasted normally.

I think ultimately football is doomed for relative neutrals if what most consumers want actually happens. A lot of fans if given the option would happily just pay for their team’s games, which would just see the current big teams with the big fan bases shit on the smaller teams from a rather great height. The best halfway house measure is the existing model (at least for the Premier League), but spread out across less providers I guess.

Australia it's $14.99 a month for entire EPL, Champions League and Europa League (about 8.3 pound) along with some Internationals and the World Cup when it's on. Can get La Liga, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and Serie A on the other major sports streaming service which is $25 a month. (13.9 pound). Not too bad overall. Must be the only time something is cheaper in Australia.

Oh i was talking exclusively about the premier league / champs league coverage sorry in which BT shove, Mcmanaman and Owen down my throat all the time in which Mcmanan on commentary is awful and Owen just has no idea. Rio, Hoddle and Linekar are fine though i like their views but jesus. Oh and Scholes haha poor mans Keane as a punditry xd Also wtf Leicester are going to THROW it away again, they are getting spanked by West Ham right now. West Ham aren't playing amazing but Leicester are just folding, a 50 yard long ball over the top against Leicester back 3 and its 2 on 2 tap in for 2-0 and then just 3 passes through the heart of Leicester and the holes in the back 3 are HUGE. As it stands 3rd to 5th (Leicester to Chelsea) is 2 points different, with Chelsea having to play both West Ham and Leicester still. Leicester in a world of trouble throwing top 4 chances late again.

Lost count of the number of crosses Leicester put into the box only for him to win the header in dominant fashion, then before you know it he's halfway up the pitch pressing or passing.

United dropping out of top 4 is about as likely as them winning it all, imo.

Speaking of which there was actually a good question put to Tuchel this week in his press conference, asking him if April and May are the months in which managers earn their wages, which is very true now for the likes of Pep who has 4 competitions to play for. Tuchel having a top 4 race, fa cup and champs league to battle in.
