Moyes is a difficult question. I don't blame him too much for United. That seemed like a mess he was never going to fix. Very similar sentiment for his time at Sunderland. Not sure who could have kept that Sunderland team up. They simply didn't have the resources to stay in the Premier League it seemed. Players were just not good enough and there was no money to buy anyone better. That been said I’m not convinced he’s a great manager. I’m just saying those two jobs in particular weren’t really his his fault. edit: Sunderland most have had TV money and now parachute payments. OK ticket prices are cheaper up there but they were getting 40,000 in each week (when they were in the Premier League) the gate takings can't have been that low. Not sure why the ended up in the situtation they are in. They are bottom of the Championship by the way.

I do think he has ended up managing some less than ideal lineups and teams lately (namely post Ferguson ManU and Sunderland), but in my books three uninspiring misses in a row is still too many. I absolutely would love to see him going to revive a team in championship and prove his quality again or go abroad somewhere. However, I don't think he looks like the person to raise fighting spirit in West Ham right now.

Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine as assistants are also vastly experienced so on paper it looks like they should at the very most be organized for the future games.

But you make a valid point that 3 poor spells in a row is starting to tot up. West Ham Is a good chance for him and it might well be his last chance. They have enough there to stay in the League. If he can't get it out of them he doesn't really deserve another chance. I'm guessing a lot of West Ham fans think he doesn't deserve this chance and why does it have to be their team that gives him his last chance. Yeah. In all honesty I'm not totally familiar with the Real Sociedad stint either, but getting sacked after a year with relatively weak results isn't exactly good. To me it isn't even about his managerial skills, but I don't think he seems like a person who can fire up a team right now given his last few managerial stints. Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but at this point I'd definitely have put my money on some other racehorse if there are any options available.

Sunderland: We were discussing Sunderland under the Moyes conversation and it never really occurred to me to ask. Why do Sunderland have no money? They had the same TV deal as any of the other Premier League clubs gates were cheap but large at 40,000. I can't see why Sunderland couldn't compete in the Premier League and buy players. Long term they were always going to be financially a lot worse especially if they never come back been relegated but they seemed to refuse to make any signings and after circling the drain for a while finally went down under Moyes.

WHILE THE SCHEME itself would be an ambitious undertaking, the goal is ultimately petty: It’s about soccer. One of the plan’s stated aims is forcing Qatar to share soccer’s 2022 World Cup, according to the outline. The strategy laid out in the document calls for using a public relations campaign to point the international soccer body FIFA to Qatar’s dwindling cash reserves, making a case that the small Persian Gulf monarchy can’t afford to build the necessary infrastructure. The blockade is already raising prices for infrastructure supplies and recruiting top officials to work in Qatar has been difficult, the slides point out. The outline concludes with the hope that the economic war will make it harder for Qatar to continue building stadiums and other assets needed to host the games: “If Qatar now spends its reserves on protecting the currency and domestic credit markets, there is less dry powder to fund the infrastructure spending.” The UAE, according to the document, hopes to make a push for the Gulf Cooperation Council — a group of Arab monarchies that includes Qatar — to host the premiere global sports event across the member nations, rather than in Qatar alone. On October 20, several weeks after The Intercept first obtained the document outlining the plan, a well-funded Twitter campaign launched with the goal of taking the World Cup from Qatar, complete with a slickly produced video. “An appeal to FIFA will be to display football as a tool to stabilise the region,” the document reads. “The GCC can petition FIFA to grant the tournament to the region as a whole.” If Qatar rejects the idea, the plan contends, “they will be seen unwilling to work with their GCC partners” — one of which would have just launched a surreptitious financial attack against the country. The Oystons exploitation of Blackpool FC is coming to an end and they are been forced to pay heavily (I'm sure they are way up anyway). Look at Newcastle to look at Sunderland, Sunderland are worst off than Newcastle in terms of their owner isn't a billionaire like Ashley but neither club is good with money at all. Newcastle can rarely afford to splash 30 million a transfer window now where as Sunderland have spent £30million the last 2 seasons probably. I have a Sunderland fan at work who is from the area and he is just saddened at the state of the club now like everyone else. The owner doesn't want it anymore but he refuses to sell / find buyers for it. So they are just sat there getting 40,000 into the ground every week floating above water. However then when you see the Chinese investors coming into the country investing in Birmingham, Aston Villa and what not you start to think that maybe no one knows about Newcastle and Sunderland because of the north issues. Man Utd and Liverpol huge clubs got investors from America and not China. Everton the next biggest club up the northern divide and they got investor from Arsenal because he was bored of Arsenal's lack of push. Seems to be the North of England isn't well received/known in China for those big billionaires to come in and invest. Maybe you can spin a light on that moreso being in China greg. Apparently NI had 0 shots on goal, in a home game, so after seeing this game, it might be an (un)lucky outcome, but not an undeserved one I think.
