Good game though, we held on in the last 10 minutes for sure but that Morata miss holy crap that was rage inducing!

Best chance we have in slowing down City (mentally at least) will be having them getting knocked out of the Champions League. But even then I think their squad is too full of quality to not win the EPL this year.

Valencia in the best league beginning of their history. 27 points of 33, seven La Liga games in a row (club record) and 30 goals (same than Barcelona). Specially after the previous two terrible seasons. Yeah it has been a wonderful start to the season. I'm surprised at how well Kondogbia has been playing, and Guedes is one of the best young players anywhere in Europe. The club still has big issues but I'm so happy to see Valencia competing for a CL place again. I'll miss watching Diego Alves saving penalties though!

I personally dislike how it is framed as Evra kicking a fan because a person jeering and throwing slurs at his team's players is no fan in my eye. Evra attacked a hooligan, and not a fan. Doesn't make him right still though...

Do the fans really hate him or is it just the haters and hooligan fans being 'louder'. Doesn't make him right still though... Not an OM fan but afaik he really is hated by the whole fanbase. He apparently plays and trains very poor and is generally seen as putting more focus on his social media than football nowadays, while also always talking about how football is his life. Would love to hear from a French person about this because I can kinda understand the hate he get's if these accusations are true.

That said, I got curious and decided to check the other top teams during the same period, and this looks like a pretty tough metric tbh. Tottenham this+last season is 0-2-4, 4 goals scored. Arsenal 0-2-6, 4 goals scored City during Guardiola looks alright - they're 2-1-3 with 6 goals scored. Chelsea the same - 2-1-3, 6 goals scored Liverpool had a pretty absurd last season, going 2-3-0 with 9 goals scored in those 5 matches. But this season they are 0-0-2 with 1-9 goal difference - still, 2-3-2 makes them the toughest away team for top teams. ;p

Like Neville said after the game last night, if Mourinho started, Martial Rashford Lukaku and found a way to fit Pogba into that startling 11 surely they would be able to go toe to toe with a few teams. But of course that isn't the Mourinho way he would prefer to win 1-0 with two defensive wingers etc which is fine, it works, he has many trophies to his name. But there is surely a way where Yanited could just yolo attack from the start with that front 3 plus Pogba pulling the strings. Still was a good game from Chelsea we played so well, with alot of issues internally again too which i hope to god we stick by Conte. David Luiz has spoken out of turn it seems and Conte has shut him down, dropped him from the squad because he wasn't doing what Conte has asked. Now we will see what happens now as player power at Chelsea has been very strong in the past, so now hopefully Conte can win this battle and we can play like we did vs Yanited more.

They're completely dominating lesser teams and also pulling out wins from the tough matches against top teams. It is still too early for me to call it, because the Christmas and New Years period is still coming up. I think that if they escape that period without harm they should be fine. But Pep has to be a bit careful still, KDB looked exhausted yesterday. He has been using him like he used Messi, but Messi is a bit better at pacing himself on the pitch.

Saturday's Match of the day wasn't that interesting this week. But it was worth watching to the end for that. edit: Ben Foster couldn't have stopped that in a million attempts.
