Osweiler just looked very skittish and check down happy in this first preseason game. And it's not like he was facing a world beater defense in the Niners. As for the Niners, they definitely picked things up on offense after my snarky comment above. The offensive line looked competent (which, in and of itself, is a HUGE improvement from where they were last year), and the run game got some major production. I definitely like the depth that the Niners have at running back. Gabbert's accuracy was horrifically bad at times, though. I'm thinking that he suffers from PTSD from his Jaguar days. The defense was also surprisingly tough during the first half when the starters and seconds were in. It'll be interesting to see how the team fairs against Denver next week.

What might not suck: Look, this team [The Lions] is still a fairly talented team that has the ability to build up a 20-point lead before blowing it in a matter of seconds. So just watch the game for three quarters and then go the fuck to sleep. It’ll be a great season for you. deadspin.com Hahahahaha

AD is on the edge of his playing ability and bridgewater has never been "superstar QB hero" material. The defence is great but I can't get the niners last year over my mind and their unability to stop the run. we've got a lot of great rookies but the WR core is super green and the O-line has always been garbage. No one suffers more then vikings fans no one.

Face mask that wasn't face mask, punched ball out of bounds, no catch-catch, 0-16... I dunno, talk more about how your team just won the NFC North.

Huzzah we have secured the 28th best QB in the league! With an upside of 20th! Of course, I am a bit extreme about non-rookie-contract QBs. My opinion is that if you aren't on a Rookie deal, and aren't elite, you are a bad signing as a QB (unless you sign for rookie level money). The evidence for this is massive. Flacco was an asset, now the Ravens are mediocre. Kaepernick was good, now rubbish. The Seahawks crushed everything, now Wilson has to play out of his mind. Rodgers, the same. You either win in the NFL with a cheap QB, or an elite QB. Or your get lucky (Denver, NYG) with multiple underpaid players at other positions.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/17312784/nfl-says-al-jazeera-implicated-players-speak-league-face-suspension If the NFL feels these players are obstructing their investigation the original transgression or lack thereof won't matter. NFLPA members have a huge target on their back... any medical guy can claim he is supplying them with hgh or steroids and any woman can claim physical abuse. if the complaint has even a modicum of plausibility it turns into a months long legal dance. If the player is exonerated it never makes the kind of headlines the original accusation made.

Lions have never been good though. you know from the start that the lions are a bunch of losers and will find ways to win. vikings will go 15-1 and then lose to the falcons. They'll have bret farves best year and then run into bounty gate were a bunch of thugs wanted to beat up an old man. Gary Anderson makes every god damm field goal and then misses the one that mattered that year. Wide right last goddam year. culpepper being the next greatest QB the league had seen and then decides to rehab his knee an hour a week at an anytime fitness. See the vikings will be just good enough to give you hope and then pull the rug out in the most painful way every time. Peanuts is about the vikings being charlie brown and fate being lucy.

You should be thankful for any of that. You have it good to have a team that won the NFC North. Lions have had competitive years, but they have also had rules MADE because of the bullshit that happens to them.
