After being angry at the Eagles for the day I can finally say that I'm okay with this deal. I agree with the idea that there are going to be a lot of QB hungry teams in the next 3-5 years and not enough quality coming through the draft to satisfy them all, so it's better to jump on that train early. I don't particularly feel inspired by either Wentz or Goff really but if the Eagles management think he is their guy then I think this was the right thing to do. The price wasn't even all that bad, certainly gave up some key draft picks but didn't mortgage the future on one guy. I guess I can live with this and just hope that what they see in Wentz is what will actually happen. I think the Eagles are probably the best landing spot for any of these QBs among the teams that were likely to pick them, except maybe Dallas. But it's important to remember that Fuck Dallas. | ||
