God that would be a feather in the cap to hold over the SEC for decades to come. Unless they got stomped. Then it would just be a remix of the post-Ted-Ginn era.

Time to play what ifs: If Nebraska beats Iowa and Wisconsin falls to Minnesota, UNL goes to the B1G CCG. If Michigan beats OSU, they play Nebraska. If Nebraska wins that, do they jump into the Top 4? Or does B1G not get represented?

I mean, "Best" is just facially wrong here. Houston is better than 5+ teams ahead of them, easily, same with USC and Florida State, meanwhile Florida is a mystery team. The ranking should be called "Most deserving, with heavy emphasis on losses"

OSU had 3 games this season that were suspect and then they lost. UM was the same way. Houston looked solid but still lost. Wisconsin the same. Nebraska lost badly to OSU and played well against Wiscy. PSU lost to an FCS school. Clemson has been living on borrowed time and should have lost 3 times. If it's Bama, Clemson, OSU, OU I'm calling bullshit. I'd even put Washington and or OK St in over OU and Clemson The issue I have with this view is that it ignores past contest history, which is particularly relevant in the Big 10. In other words, OSU may have looked weak against Northwestern and Penn State, but once one looks at the history of those match-ups, that weakness looks more like a team-specific dynamic rather than a blanket assessment of OSU's strength.

We were a bad team this year and we've only grown so much. We set a record for worst loss this year! I accept it. Any team above us would give us a hard run for our money or just stomp us outright. Probably some teams below us as well. We're just gonna play out our season, enjoy beating Florida (hopefully), and try not to lose our bowl game this year. Maybe we'll even get Houston again.

I expected the AFC North teams to be good but not great. I guess the Steelers could qualify as disappointing based on their offensive potential but I really haven't followed them enough to know if their defense is good enough.

Fair, I may be wrong on FSU because of the sample of games I saw, but damn I am suspicious of Florida.

Then again, Darnold has a tendency to freshman at times and he's not going to keep getting away with it against better teams. eh even if darnold started from the first snap against bama. it's not like he would've made their loss any better.
