Every single time I am one match away from the monies and every single time they screw me over. Bloody Jordanian cup a few days ago. Got the winning ticket until the 90th minute, penalty and it ends a draw. Was already planning how to spend 70 euros ![]()

In the Scottish relegation Rangers are currendly getting hammered at home, 3:0 Motherwell. And Pande is gonna have a heart attack either tomorrow or when Uefa announces they are going to do nothing when after their CL final meeting :D

How 1 billionaire can have so much influence on who to buy and stuff. It wasnt always like this ![]() Plus theres the underdog St. Pauli in the city as well, lots of people love that one and both clubs hate each other ![]() and their bragging about their "dinosaur" status in the Bundesliga isnt helping either :p

Oh and they have a clock in the stadium showing how long they have been in the Bundesliga that both the media and club mention at every possible opportunity (mascot is a dinosaur). The only reason I actually sort of want them to stay up is because that clock might move to Munich.

More than a dozen banks are named in the U.S. Department of Justice's indictment of nine officials at FIFA, the game's powerful governing body, and five sports media and promotion executives, over charges involving more than $150 million in bribes. "Part of our investigation will look at the conduct of the financial institutions to see whether they were cognizant of the fact they were helping launder these bribe payments," Kelly T. Currie, acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, said at a news conference. https://news.yahoo.com/questions-arise-banks-role-fifa-bribery-case-012840061--sector.html

No amount of accounting artistry can hide that kind of money once people start looking. US govt wants its payday. Its going to get it. Death and taxes etc...

Why go after the banks? Partly because they are where the money is, and the FIFA investigation looks likely to be quite profitable for the Justice Department. Partly because everyone hates banks, and for an American prosecutor the public-relations benefit of bringing down (1) soccer, (2) corrupt foreigners and (3) banks all in one investigation is irresistible. DOJ is due for a huge payday here. Big question is whether the banks should have known that the money being wired back and forth was for bribes, and whether in allowing these wires they knowingly facilitated money laundering and bribery and failed to notice or question the obvious red flags that evidently everyone else in the world knew about (that FIFA has been corrupt forever). Maybe? Probably? I guess at the least they should have flagged these individuals and asked "wait a minute, are these million dollars for bribes?" but that's a problem for their compliance officer to deal with.

Compliance and legal associates at these banks are probably getting fired as we speak. Whether they were told to do it or let it slide, either way their careers are kinda fucked. They can always snitch though. Frankly this is like movie worthy shit.

As I understand it the conference is already underway and only the election will be streamed at 4 pm. Two hours for one round of voting seems long. Do you by any chance read German btw? I just read a massively depressing newspaper article that would contribute to your anger :p

One thing, the guys from the North American associations have been sacked and new replacements been made already does that means these new heads of Costa Rican FA etc now get to vote? Because that would be nice for a change in vote, ala not voting blatter voting Prince Ali now ? Or do FIFA still see the arrested in charge and there vote counts?
