Anyone kind of off topic there Here's hoping UEFA pull out of going to elections tomorrow to at least put pressure onto FIFA. I know as stated that there are more people in the other confederations who back Blatter but they still can't do anything with UEFA present im sure.
Adding into the USA debate, i was having this kind of discussion with shelly (shellshock) on skype. I am dumbfounded how a country like the USA does not have Basketball/NFL/NHL/MLB or even MLS teams at least one in every state. But it is all done on advertising/money. If a city can't keep a stadium full and money coming in they just shut the franchise down and move it on. I mean what a joke that is lol. NewYork has 2x MLS teams and LA has 2x basketball teams. Yet some states have neither lol. Beyond me. Also he said i think minnesota? Had a 100,000 seater college stadium for college games yet the professional team which i think he said were new has a stadium of like 60,000 ? lol. How on earth can you fill 100,000 seat stadium for ametur sports and not have the same for professional level. Murica be crazy! TCF Stadium is the U of M's stadium, seats 80,000 with I think an addition that was made for the NFL team while their new stadium is built. According to Wikipedia, the new Viking's stadium only seats 73,000 XD. But Minnesota is a good example of a lot of this because we have a history of Franchises leaving the state. The LA Lakers were the Minneapolis Lakers, a name that actually makes sense for Minnesota, and the team was moved to LA shortly after the Dodgers moved in the early sixties. Same for the old NHL team, the North Stars, or now the Dallas Stars. Teams follow the money, and you need a lot of money to be competitive. I don't think the good people of Wichita, Kansas want to show up to watch their team limp into a professional event in the dominant professional league of your choosing, just to have it look like Michael Jordan playing 1 on 1 with the neighborhood dads. Interestingly enough, while looking at Wichita because that was the first city that came to mind, there seem to exist a lot of peripheral, smaller leagues that pretty much no one outside of people in the local area/the very dedicated would be aware of; the graphic below are cities with AA Hockey teams. Minnesota has a AAA Baseball team called the Saints, which Bill Murray co-owns. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/mOD2gs9.png) I guess that is a very round about way of saying, there is probably a semi-pro/pro team in a given metropolitan area of a reasonable size, the league just isn't really covered without really looking for it. Hmm ok then, but in terms of the MLS for example the whole MLS has 20 teams and there are 50 states? So imo it would be better to have a proper league system of Eastern 1 Eastern 2 and West 1 West 2 and divide it up to 25 teams a piece and go that way. But i guess that just me being European and a bit unfair to the US for what they do. I just find it said that you have to make "x" amount of money to be successful or the team just disappears lol No real public outcry here to have clubs propped up if they aren't making money, at least not for soccer. Cities and states will bend over completely for NFL teams though. I did tune into the Minnesota United game last night actually, I think they are an NASL team, I agree, some consolidation would be excellent.

I just don't get it. FIFA will collapse without the UEFA. They have all the power to make whatever change they wanted and right now they would have backing by all of the western press/public. And the most likely outcome right now is that Blatter will win the election and there will be no UEFA in the executive committee. He will probably be elated.

Indeed, thats what i think is going to happen as well which is just stupid. Unless UEFA plan to just walk away from FIFA if Blatter wins again. Which if this is the case they need to make it apparent to the world. Pretty sure it might change peoples votes if they no that they walk away.

Russia was expected, but Spain? What's the story behind that?
European football’s governing body has ruled out seeking a postponement of Friday’s Fifa presidential election despite the crisis gripping the organisation and will instead back Sepp Blatter’s challenger Prince Ali bin al-Hussein.
Following a meeting of all 54 Uefa members, it also emerged that former Manchester United chief executive David Gill has vowed to relinquish his seat as Fifa vice president if Blatter wins Friday’s election.
The Uefa and FA board member received applause when he said he would not take up the seat he was due to inherit from Jim Boyce after Friday’s Fifa Congress.
The Uefa president, Michel Platini, who had earlier met personally with Blatter to ask him to stand down in the wake of Wednesday’s dramatic wave of arrests, told the delegates that the confederation needed to unite in support of Blatter’s challenger Prince Ali. Most of Uefa’s members will back Ali in Friday’s election though some, including Russia and Spain, will remain staunch backers of the incumbent.
Prince Ali is understood to have told the Uefa delegates that he believed he had the support of more than 60 associations outside Europe, which would give him more than enough backing to take the contest to a second round. Ali or Blatter would need a two thirds majority to win in the first round and a simple majority thereafter.
Following a morning of crisis meetings at Fifa HQ with representatives of each confederation, Blatter has resolved to press ahead with Friday’s election.
One Uefa source said that when Platini, a former supporter of Blatter, personally asked the president to stand down he told him that he would not but that he might have considered it if he had been asked earlier.
Michael van Praag, the Dutch FA president who stood down from the race to succeed Blatter last week before Tuesday’s dramatic arrests, said that Uefa had decided against a boycott of Friday’s vote because that would guarantee Blatter victory.

Sadly, Spanish was expected.
Villar is a corrupt man that leads the Royal federation since 1988. He is vice-president of FIFA by the way. He use always his connections with Platini/Blatter for threaten everyone that want to change the Spanish Football, after two decades of dictatorship. Some weeks ago after the strike failed, he threatened la liga with sanctions from FIFA for the new "tv rights distribution law" because spanish government intrusion. .
It would be strange if that douchebag doesn't support FIFA. After 27 years at charge, Most spaniards hate the federation, but what can we do?

Stream keeps crashing so but the German ticker has this:
Die Uefa will laut Platini erst einmal die Wahl abwarten und dann Entscheidungen über die eigene Zukunft treffen. Es gibt angeblich einige Mitglieder, die nicht länger zur Fifa gehören wollen.
Uefa wants to wait for the election result and then decide for the Future. Allegedly there are several members, that don't want to belong to Fifa anymore.

I get that part but in terms of most football teams in Europe not many have a positive income to full effect, but they still fill stadiums every week. Its the opposite in American system though? If you don't fill a stadium regardless of "x" income they can just pack up and move the team? I understand the well its making no money they dont deserve it, but if that was the case in football across Europe. Teams like Chelsea and Atletico would not have existed by now.

Haha like the best leagues minus corrupt Spain could force a move away from FIFA would be awesome :D
