It's good to see Gladbach and Wolfsburg up there but both teams where understandably short of Munchen. I hope they do well in the Champions League. Do you think there's a chance of a closer title race next year? Who will be the team to go after Munchen? There should be plenty of excitement at the bottom of your League. No one is down yet, plenty to fight for. Should Gladbach find fitting replacements for Kramer and Kruse and keep the rest of the squad together I think they could very well play a 9pt group stage. What do we expect them to spend moneywise? They won't get anything out of Kramer because he was on loan, right? So €30-40m to replace two of the more iconic players of the season and probably increase roster depth? I'm really unsure about this as Hrgota played earlier in the EL but never played a big role in the league squad, or did he? Similar to Dortmund in the last years I find Gladbach to work great against big teams but we never know how naive or nervous they'll be. I can absolutley see Gladbach play the 2nd best group stage of the involved German teams if they follow their plan as good as they in the league. In my opinion the title race is going to depend on Bayern. If de Bruyne stays in Wolfsburg I see them as the 2nd best team which might have a solid shot at the title depending on the roster developments in Munich. Looking at the roster which should get upgraded with Khedira a Schalke team with far less injuries than this year might play a good role. But overall I'd say Bayern > Wolfsburg > Schalke/Gladbach/Leverkusen. I know I should most likely add Dortmund but we'll get a new coach after 7+ years and most rumoured transfer targets indicate that we'll concentrate on a solid Bundesliga season. If it works out it might put us right back into the big bulk of 2nd-5th place contenders but if it doesn't we'll struggle a few points behind the above mentioned teams in my opinion.

It's crazy that he wasn't injured earlier.

As dominant as Bayern has been throughout the last three years, I believe next season would be the best time to steal the Meisterschaft from them. Their team still is totally ridiculous if everyone is healthy. But the team is getting old. I believe they need at least 5 new players to keep playing on the same level. They obvioulsy have the money to do this, but are there enough players of this level available over the summer. They especially need back-ups for Ribbery and Robben. Thiago and Martinez need to stay healthy, because Schweinsteiger and Alonso won't cut it in the middle. And they actually let Kroos go... well, hindsight is 20/20. Secondly, there is a lot of really good teams in the Bundesliga right now, hungry for the title. Though for me it is impossible to say who is the biggest thread. Dortmund in its first year under a new coach? Maybe if they miss the EL this year. With those games on Thursday nights and less training, they won't be that good soon enough to beat Bayern. Gladbach? The same thing really, their team is awesome, but playing Bundesliga and CL at the same time will not allow them to be a contender, the roster is not (yet) deep enough. Plus, they still have the underdog status, teams will be better prepaired for them next year. Wolfsburg will have a fantastic team next year, maybe they can do it. But they have to integrate a lot of new players very quickly (they basically failed on that account with Schürrle this year). Leverkusen? They are strong and have a good coach. But their history of failing is so dominant... no one can truly believe they are gonna be the top dog with everything that happened during the last 15 years and again this year: getting eliminated in DFB-Pokal and CL through penalties... you could say it was bad luck, but it also fits the bill perfectly. Schalke is such a wild card... you can never predict what happens with that club. But at least they have the financial backing and (in theory) a good team, as one could see against Real Madrid. So basically I believe Bayern will not get as many points as last year. And I also believe one or two of the above teams might be able to step up their game and be a real thread to win the title. At least I am convinced it will be way more interesting than this season was (though the relegation race in the Bundesliga is totally awesome).
