He's suddenly a candidate again just simply by virtue of having hitched his wagon to Chip Kelly and his offense.

Didn't Haslem buy the team and/or Holmgren get fired/leave town which caused Shumur to be fired? If I have that right, I don't think it's fair to hold it against Shumur (though we have plenty of other things to hold against him).

How far does Dorial Green-Beckham fall with his off the field issues and sitting out this season? As far as I know he was widely considered a top 10 or top 5 pick prior to all the shit that went down.

Hmm, maybe top of the second round? Think something like a Janoris Jenkins drop off. He's just too talented not to be snatched up early.

Was he the DE that McShay had at like 3rd on his board?

DGB is a WR originally out of Mizzou but transferred to Oklahoma after he got kicked off the team. I just see people guessing anywhere from late 1st to down in the 6th or 7th which seems ridiculous to me so I was just curious what you guys thought.
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=123220&draftyear=2016&genpos=WR 6'6" 225 lbs 4.49 40 time loads of off the field issues
The DE from Mizzou is Shane Ray if that's what you're thinking of. He's supposed to be the #1 pass rusher on the board from what I understand. SEC Defensive POTY

That's the guy! I had never heard of him but I didn't catch any Mizzou games this year. McShay had him at 3 but I can't get the rat of his rankings without Insider.

#1 pass rusher? no way. randy gregory is so much better than ray.

idk maybe I got them confused. I haven't been able to watch nearly as much football this year so I'm just kind of going off what the talking heads have been saying when I've caught it which as far as quality goes can be up for debate most of the time. I just know the Redskins have been mocked to take either Shane Ray or the Iowa or ND OT in the few mocks I've looked at.
I bet what happened was I read he was "best pass rusher available" by the times the Redskins picked and accidentally remembered it as #1

Skins shouldn't take a pass rusher. They have Orakpo, Kerrigan and Murphy already. They need to protect RG3 so taking Peat, Scherff or Stanley (if he declares) would be the best option.

I agree. I think we're taking offensive line. It doesn't matter who we have playing QB if he has no protection and the oline outside of Trent Williams is pretty much terrible. For some reason I thought that I saw Ronnie Stanley had already declared but I guess my memory is just getting terrible these days.
I'm pretty happy with our new gm hire. This will mean we won't do something like trade up for Jameis if he declares and I can relax a little more about it

Is RG3 even gonna be there next season?

yeah afaik they're keeping him for next year
I think all 3 of RG3, Cousins, and McCoy are supposed to be back so it'll just be more of a side show. Kind of feel bad for RG3. He'd have a better chance of reviving his career on some other teams.

instead of predictions, which are boring. What is everyone's ideal result this weekend?
For me:
BAL < NE IND > DEN (self explanatory as a Pats fan) DAL > GB (I want DAL to not be a joke for some reason.) CAR > SEA (honestly just because SEA is so dangerous, not because I dislike them.)
NE > IND DAL > CAR
NE > DAL

BAL > NE IND < DEN DAL < GB CAR < SEA
BAL < DEN GB > SEA
DEN > GB
GB > * for five years in a row after (except for one year where the Chargers finally win the Super Bowl).

BAL > NE IND < DEN DAL < GB (I guess, either way is fine with me) CAR > SEA (This is the only one I REALLY care about)

NE>BAL DEN>IND SEA>CAR Don't care GB/DAL
DEN>NE SEA>*
DEN>SEA
That way Peyton can win and retire, and the two fanbases I currently dislike most can shut up.

Orakpo is likely gone next season, imo. Jim Haslett was apparently a large force in getting him franchise tagged this year that was basically a "show me why you should be paid the big bucks" contract. With him getting injured and Haslett fired, I think the Skins let him walk into FA and let someone else throw a big contract at him.
That said, I agree they arent taking a pass rusher with their first pick.

The only reason RG3 will be back is the cap hit the Skins take if they offload him. Cutting him would be ~6.3 million in dead cap money and unlike some of the other bad teams this year like Jax and Oak, the Skins aren't swimming in loads of extra cap space going into next year. If they found someone who wanted to trade for RG3 that number gets cut in half, but I am not sure anyone is going to be making that trade.
