he'll still get touches but he's definitely not going to be the workhouse back like i thought he'd be when i drafted him this year

Some fans are blowing this Manning/scoreboard operator thing way out of proportion. The way I see it, Manning is just trying to win games, which should be easy enough to understand whether or not you're cheering for the Broncos.

I agree. I never could figure why fans cheered when their team had the ball. I guess alcohol plays a role, but if they're actually trying to give their team the best chance to win, it should be silent as a church.

I think people just dont always think about it when they're at the game. We had to explain it every season to people we sat with in college so maybe they just don't know better for whatever reason

It's well established that Manning has sensitive hearing.
He thought it was disrespectful when they showed him vs Rivers back and forth to incite switches from boos to cheers. He called it disrespectful... Not the FANS, mind you, but the scoreboard guy for providing an opportunity for the fans to be disrespectful, I guess.
The also showed Bronco players dancing on the sidelines... He was mad about that. Again, not at his teammates for being disrespectful in victory, but at the scoreboard guy for showing his teammates being disrespectful.
It's sad that he was so burnt up about it to be a big brat on the field and then blasts the guy in the postgame. That poor schmuck might lose his job or be reprimanded and is now nationally humiliated by undoubtedly the one player in the NFL that every fan will side with regardless of loyalty. If punishment was necessary, so be it, but what's not necessary was how Manning handled it, who was also the only person who seemed to give a shit. He just used the scoreboard keeper as a scapegoat for his criticism for his own fans', and possibly his teammates', behavior.

I'm sorry, but since when is being right and expecting someone to not be grossly incompetent at their job bratty?

Should I play Brees on SNF vs Pack or Brady vs Bears? Just going by recent trends you'd think Brady but doesn't Brees usually absolutely smash face on SNF? Presumably Jimmy will be healthier this week as well.

Brady easy, that bears D looks like a sieve. no lance briggs and a secondary made of spare parts
|
I agree that Brady will have a nice day, but I also think Brees will be good. Your pick.

I bet this happens more then it's ever talked about, but because Manning made such an unnecessarily big deal out of it I bet that guy no longer has a job.

Manning's used to the Colts fans, I guess. I remember announcers making a big deal about how quiet they are when on offense.

So I received a trade offer that I need help with:
Someone offered me: Jimmy Graham Alshon Jeffery
for my Julio Jones.
To think about, my other WRs are: Rueben Randle, Terrance Williams, Andrew Hawkins, Andre Holmes and Justin Hunter My only TE is Delanie Walker
This trade sounds good, but was wondering what others think. I am in a PPR league.
|
Jimmy might be hurt the rest of the year and Alshon hasn't really done much of anything. If Alshon turns it around and Jimmy can get to 100% I'd probably do it.
|
So would this weekends games be a telling factor?

Jimmy could still play all year just not at 100%. Alshon has the potential to go off, but the Bears have been sloppy. That said, the Falcons are also god awful so if I were you I'd try to sit on it until after this weekend and let that be your deciding factor.
|
Well ok, and if he sits on it, and Jeffery's goes off, the guy will just cancel the trade.
|
I'd do that trade I think. Julio is a bit more valuable than Alshon but the falcons are playing like shit just like the bears so who knows just how much better he will be going forward. Getting Jimmy Graham gives you random 20+ point fantasy games from your TE slot. Even if he isn't 100% the rest of the year he's still better than Walker and a big red zone target.

Having time zone / dst issues. How long until kickoff in London? Never mind finally got it calculated.

Somewhat unsettling to hear the US national anthem in England :p
