I'm happy with either team winning. I just hope for a good game.
If I had to bet, I'd bet on the Broncos. I just don't trust the Seattle offense at all. Whereas I think Peyton is legendarily good and will step up for this one.
I don't particularly care who wins this since I don't have any particular attachment to either team (and they are both deserving) so I just hope its a good game and not a stomp.
I'm really pulling for the Seahawks but I don't like their odds
PFM got his, its time for the younger generation to start taking charge. I think their only hope is controlling the game with Marshawn and playing time of posession - I don't think even the LOB can stop Welker/Decker/Thomas/Thomas but if they don't have the ball they can't score.
The seahawks go HARD and I think the Broncos are in for an unpleasent surprise, and will not be allowed to play their game. You cant throw vs the Hawks, and Manning is too slow and one dimensional.

Gotta agree, the Seahawk's defense is a pocket passer's nightmare.
Although if anyone can unlock them it's Peyton. Going to be an exciting game!
Rooting for a blizzard, because Peyton can't play at all in the snow. If its below 30 and snowing, expect Peyton to throw 3 picks and hand off 50 times.

Right, even though I'm from the Netherlands and supposed to hate on your country and your sports, I'll be watching with some family members and not particularly rooting for anyone, because the 49ers got knocked out. Let's just hope for a none onesided game. Think the game might be slightly in favor of the Bronco's though.
I'm gonna start the trash talk and say outright the seahawks are going to take this game. It will not be a pretty game, and there will be some blood shed. It won't be about how well peyton manning throws the ball, but whether the receivers can catch it with that very physical Defense. I'm gonna take a full step further, and say Peyton manning will get 300 yards no problem, but 2 interceptions and 3 TD's. While on the other side Russel Wilson will step his game up and go 60 yards running with 1 running TD, and 140 passing yards with 1 TD and 1 Interception, and a fumble. But the real reason the Seahawks are going to win, is because of "The Beast" Marshawn Lynch, who will go 120 yards with 2 TD's. Bronco's don't have that big of a run stop defense, and Marshawn is gonna have a field day in this snow, as long as his legs keep churning. 27-24 final score Seahawks.
After watching the last the Seahawks vs Niner game 2 weeks ago, I'm going to go ahead and vote for the Broncos to win the Super Bowl! Manning deserves it.
I want Denver to win, but considering Seattle's run game, defense, and shitty weather for QB, Seattle's game. If I were to bet on this, I'd pick Seattle + under. But hey, could never count out the best QB in the league.
Denver is terran and Seattle is protoss, no doubt:
Denver relying on multipronged drops (Manning+WRs) vs an OP drop defence with blink stalkers, feedbacks and photon overcharge (LOB.)
Seahawks offence is chargelot-archon based (Lynch+Robinson), with occational warp prism harass (Harwin+Boldwin). Denver has a defensive Thor (Pot roast).
So superbowl is about the totally unjustified claims that more firearms lead to more shooting? Some Americans scare me. The weapons industry is strangely not mentioned by that guy...
Broncos are a -2.5 favorite and a -140 on the straight up moneyline. I'd be betting Seattle if I were a betting man, and I think the experts will be as well.
I personally think Manning's going to do as he pleases, he's just too good, and the Seattle offense isn't as good as people think.
Accounting for strength of schedule, Seattle is the slightly stronger team and should be favored to win Super Bowl XLVIII with an edge of 52 percent to 48 percent.
The smarties were waiting to see if the line got to +3 for SEA (which it is now/has been only on Bovada I think =) )..the people really want Peyton to win this.

It's 50 right now but supposed to start snowing late in the evening. I think it'll probably be after the game finishes, but let's hope for some snow to spice things up!
My heart says 'Hawks (Richard Sherman is my favorite player at the moment), but my head says Broncos. It's a sick, sick cosmic joke that Eli has more rings than Peyton.
I dont care much for either team, but I will pick seattle just because I dont like everyone favoring manning. Also just from records over the year I think seattle is the better team since most picked them to make it here back at the beginning.
Gosh was this an overdone version of the anthem. I hate it when they do this (regardless to which anthem) as this often takes away the true spirit and meaning of the anthem.
The TV just implored me to watch the untold story of Noah's ark. I wonder which Noah's ark they're referring to, because I'm pretty sure at least one of them has been told, like, a billion times.

Not in Vegas casinos, but online you can bet on almost any aspect. In Vegas you can only bet on stuff that's like officially sanctioned sports events. I don't even think you can bet on Super Bowl MVP in the casinos cause it's determined by media vote.

Seattle trusts their defense to get the stops and help slow down the game with their run game. Early points on the board in any playoff game is a big deal.
But Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers no bueno. It was like Blizzard hiring Nickelback or Taking Back Sunday or whoever the fuck they got for Blizzcon.
That the Seadderall Seahawks not only get crushed but that Russel Wilson gets so depressed after the defeat that he retires, that Pete Carroll is so awed by Manning that he quits to be the Defensive Coordinator for the Broncos so he can help Manning go out with a 2peat next year and finally that Sherman gets a year long suspension for his 2nd (or is it 3rd?) PED test failure. However he's so cocky that he's the greatest that he doesn't work out in the off season, comes back, gets cut and is never heard from again. Well, I pry don't need that last one on there.. but he already got off once so we should probably play it safe.

Statistically btw Seattle Defense allows the fewest points in the NFL per game in the first quarter (1.4 ish for the entire season). Most likely since their defense is fresh rest-wise and amped to go play. So this kind of defensive domination early is very typical for Seattle's defense.

Pretty much what I predicted. Yeah instead you count like a certain number of seconds (Mississippis) and then the one guy guarding the QB is allowed to cross the line of scrimmage and chase him (but then there would be rules like 1 blitz and 1 QB sneak allowed per 4 downs). And it would be like, a certain tree in someone's yard is a first down marker.

The 3rd part of a team. They deal with kickoffs, punts and field goals. The runback for a touchdown at the start of the 2nd half was special teams scoring. They've also done well defending against Broncos special teams.
What an embarrassment for the Broncos. The scariest thing is that the Broncos are the team that is aging and has a limited window to win the super bowl, while the Seahawks are so damn young...

So since the games over, who's gonna be mvp? I can't think of a Seattle offensive player that really stood out, but defense has also been more of a team effort than one outstanding player. Standart cop out to the QB or just give it to Manning as a participation trophy?

Look at the regular season and tell me who deserved the Mvp more than Peyton.
Nick foles, Tom Brady, Richard Sherman, etc.
Defensive players would have to be absolutely spectacular to win, and Sherman (through not a ton of fault of his own) just doesn't have the stat line or huge plays to win it based on the fact that when you're good as a corner people don't throw at you.
Foles is not as great a quarterback as his stupidly good quarterback rating on the year suggests and he didn't play for what 5-6 games?
I'm a big Brady fan and think you deserve respect for doing what he does with no weapons, but ultimately you can't give someone MVP based on that when someone broke the single season TD passes and Passing yards record.

pass defense domination like this is usually to the credit of the coaching staff and their ability to break down the other team's precise routes via film study.

but with that last play it's russell wilson lol
Yeah Wilson made a few great plays so it would be okay but it still feels more like the defence and special teams won this.

All these years of pretty good superbowls have spoiled us. There was a time when you expected the superbowl to be shit. Karmic justice for good close games over the last decade.
With modern sports being the way it is and having two weeks to mentaly prepare... the two teams that made it to the final should not have this much of a difference between them...

Football is a high variance game. If they were to play 1000 times, I bet this is the one or two times this happens.
Plus if you watch the guy throw it's a miracle that receivers ended up under those lobs so often. Really not nearly as good a passer as someone like Manning.
Seattle was the best team the whole year so I figured they would win, but its hard to say it would be this one sided. How did vegas odds have broncos as 2 point favorites again?

Casual bettors, Vegas sets lines to try to get action on both sides.
At least when my team loses the super bowl they do it with some measure of dignity intact. And we can say shit like "If only that guy hadn't made a ridiculously improbable catch on his helmet..."
The Broncos fans have to say, "If only we didn't get outplayed in every possible aspect..."

Class? Its a game score as many as you can
Unwritten rule that you don't embarrass the opposing coach and organization if you can help it and you don't have to jeopardize your own chance to win. Some choose to follow that some don't but I always thought it was the classy thing to do.

Ryan Leaf was a draft bust so Jonny Manziel will also be a bust.
Am I doing this right?
Leaf and manziel play qb different. Favre and manning play the same. You can't compare those 2 qbs you chose as an example.
Favre was a gunslinger, he did a lot of really stupid shit that anyone would tell you is completely inadvisable. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't but his legacy was taking chances.
Manning is a surgeon. He picks apart the other team. His legacy will be as the god of the regular season knowing how to make the other team look pedestrian with his knowledge.
They both throw a lot but they're entirely different players.

Its only time till it cycles back around. It wasn't long ago when the NFC West was the bottom of the NFC barrel and it will happen again in the future. Who knows what next year brings and if they can maintain two top NFC teams another year. There are simply way too many ways for a team to drop off in a year to year basis in the NFL.
I'm guessing that Seattle will lose a significant chunk of their roster during the offseason-- they have a lot of players who are probably coming off rookie contracts or becoming free agents, and there's no way all the other teams in the NFL won't make some nice offers to them.

Um Panthers? No one else in the NFC can touch the West. Although I think your joking with saying the Browns.
Its only time till it cycles back around. It wasn't long ago when the NFC West was the bottom of the NFC barrel and it will happen again in the future. Its crazy to think that four years ago the best team in the NFC West was 7-9

55-10 is pretty bad, I'm not even sure this is Denver's worst Super Bowl ever.
Doesn't matter, recorded it anyways. Too bad Sherman couldn't be on the field when they won thanks to his injury (I mean he was on the sidelines but you get what I'm saying).

For me the game was awesome, I didn't mind that the game was over after the first half. Seattle won on every side of the ball,, made Denver and Peyton Manning look like a joke. Eli "Not in my house one ring"

The game was indeed terrible. Hosted a SB-party, trying to get a couple of friends into NFL - I don't think I was all that successful As a fan of neither team I had really hoped for a good game, but Denver just decided not to play in any of the 3 phases of the game.

The exact same thing happened for me too. I told my friends how awesome the superballs had been in the past. They finally gave in and we did hot dogs and stuff and then this terrible game happened. Feels depressing...

Hah, my buddies were all talking about that when we were watching. Elway must be having flashbacks.

What was so bad? We got to see a little bit of everything, yea it was from one team but it was impressive. Safety, pick six, kick off return how is that not exciting?

Things are almost always more fun when, you know, it's a actually a competitive game. Just have them watch the NFC Championship game.

Would hAve never thought I'd be prude by 28. But I really did miss the part where a straight up cum and blowjob commercial on national tv became nbd. Then again I never watch tv.

How so ? there is only 1 american football team there as far as I know , and that is the Nigerian National Team....well I hope they get it anyway , they need it to survive the 2015 American Football World Cup.
He means that someone produced tons of Broncos Super Bowl champ gear in the event that they won the Super Bowl. Now theres really nothing to do with it but give it to charity.
Here's some happy fans of the 2007 Bears Super Bowl champs!
Thought it was a pretty awesome match, it was like an exhibition of ways to win with special teams/ defence. Loved Percy Harvin's contribution, good for him. Feel sorry for Peyton. His O Line were not up to it and he picked a terrible time to have a bad game!
i thought the oline was wayyyyy more at fault than manning. you cant be getting shredded like that by four man fronts. they rushed only six times all game.

This. Every time a play ended, there seemed to be like no Broncos to be seen anywhere. Peyton was forced out of pocket in under two seconds almost every play (dunno if they actually count that stat).

yup. that offense is is built on manning having ample time to let any of his wrs get some where and hit them for big yardage. cant do that if he's barely able to get back for his steps before getting pressured

You're right it wasn't straight up, but a blowjob joke certainly goes further than what I've seen in commercials. And yes a blowjob joke is inherently female-submissive, especially when the other men say "she wasn't good for us anyway" after cock blocking.

Turns out human(and most mammalian) sexuality is female submissive. So I guess we just can't make sex jokes now?
There was a cleaning joke in there too, that's pretty sexist.
Pretty sure it was also in a kitchen, more sexism.

Oh look, sexism exists in pop culture and animal culture, therefore we should propagate it. Instead of bettering our culture and trying to eliminate inequalities, let's become more animalistic!

I am unaware of how a commercial joking about a woman initiating sexual activity is propagating inequality. What improvement to our culture happens if we stop making such jokes?
Superbowl MVP should have gone to the entire Seahawks D-line. They pretty much destroyed Broncos by themselves. All the big plays the secondary made was more or less directly caused by the d-line domination.

I think you can discern the difference in degree of female submissiveness between a blowjob and most other sex acts.

I (and pretty much everyone else that was at my house) said they should have given it to the entire defense. An extraordinary effort by the whole unit.

I just don;t understand how they so outclassed the Denver offensive line... I mean the Seahawks have been good all season, but this was like a college team vs. a high school team.

People tend to attribute a lot of a defensive effort to the D-line but they forget that the entire defense works as a unit together.
Peyton Manning, despite the outcome of the game, is exceptionally good at checking down his list of receivers. His average time from snap to releasing the football is 2.4 seconds. If we have a good D-line but bad pass coverage, chances are he can hit the quick slant or curl route for at least a moderate gain. Denver's YAC was also a significant factor in their offense throughout the regular season.
Having great pass coverage also gives our D-line time to reach Peyton and makes any pressured passes a huge risk. Having great pass rush gives our secondary chances to take the ball away. If he does manage to get the pass off and his receiver gets it, our linebackers and LOB have to be good enough to punish the receiver immediately for trying to run up the middle. Basically our entire defensive unit was on point the whole game and created opportunities for each other.
