First, her stereo doesn't work, and she insists on staying in the room with the broken machine instead of moving us to one of the unoccupied rooms. Then she decides to remedy the situation by filling the silence with incessant whining about her boyfriend and her daughter and her house and whatever other shit she feels like dumping on me. Which one of us is the therapist in this relationship, again? Worst of all, while she's using me as her diary, she keeps stopping the massage to search for words, like she can't stay focused on her fucking job. It felt so half-assed, she didn't pay any attention to the problem areas that I directed her towards. She just auto-piloted and ranted at me. UGH, the frustration. Can you get refunds on this sort of thing? for a 130 bucks here you can get a much more enjoyable service by a woman Was she supposed to be a chiro? if not, I don't think she can help much with muscle pain I'm sure you can find a top chiro for that kind of money imo

Never really understood the difference. Put in a complaint to the ownership, just waiting for a call back. Not sure how it works in the US. A chiro knows human muscle and joint structure; he will ask you where it hurts, find the tight muscles around the area, massage them until they are loose (or use some other stuff if its too tight) and will also pop your joints back into place.

Yeah definitely try to get a refund/free massage from a different therapist that sounds horrible and like the COMPLETE opposite of my experience. This is why I always check reviews or ask someone i know before getting pretty much any service that expensive. Try getting someone who works specifically with athletes/etc, they're generally more knowledgeable about fixing you and getting your body working better. Chiros here vary a lot, there will ones that basically crack your back and then have you come in 3 times a week so they can make a ton of money, and then there's good ones that will help rehab you, do soft tissue work, identify problems, and get them fixed. I like massage therapists though because soft tissue work is such a pain in the ass for certain things. If you find a good one they should do pretty much everything the chiro would do except the joint adjustments.

Also managed to deadlift 130 kg (285lbs) this morning which is a PR for me. Squat is still a work in progress to keep achieving depth and keep my torso upright, but hit 95kg 3x5 and 1x3, 1x2 this morning which is also a sort of PR, if we count my new and improved form. Otherwise, I keep stretching and I can feel my mobility improving, but it still has a ways to go. Ordered a foam roller and it was supposed to arrive last night... didn't. Now it's a holiday in Korea so I gotta wait till Monday. ![]() A few weeks ago I ranted a bit about my weight and how most people think I'm out of shape. And also that I'll run a 10 km with my parents in-law who seemed to doubt I could run at all. I was happy to impress my father in law by running 8.5 km with him last Sunday morning (wife and mom-in-law had to turn back after about 3 km). Running twice a week with the wife as well and we're progressing well. After the gym this morning we ran about 6 km without stopping. Her furthest run without having to walk. ![]() This is your father-in-law. You're not going to have a rational conversation with him or "prove" anything to him. Distance running is fitness masturbation. It's not that hard. It "feels" hard and there are no losers.

Humans are physiologically designed to do distance running though. Building muscle serves no purpose for us, seeing as we will never be as strong pound for pound as a chimp or lion or whatever. Basically at the end of the day people should just do whatever they enjoy. I don't know why you feel the need to say that long distance running is less legitimate than something like lifting weights, just because you feel that since you did track you have some authority on the matter.

Seriously, over like 3 or 4 threads, you just take the most relativistic stance and claim that as some sort of panacea against my opinions. I know that seems really cool in high school, but it gets real old real quick.

You don't have to use such inflammatory descriptions for things that you disagree with or find useless. Calling long distance running "fitness masturbation" is doing nothing but fishing for a response or trying to make other people feel bad for what they enjoy. I'm not trying to be cool or anything, it's just that you're saying pretty inconsiderate stuff and making sweeping generalizations. I don't see how something can possibly be bad if it's getting someone active and they enjoy doing it. To me, that's the complete opposite of bad and you shaming something like that because you think it's stupid is really asinine and basically a dick move. You ever hear that if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all? Just because you have an opinion on a topic doesn't mean you have to share it if all you're going to do is make some other person feel like shit at the end. It's not only stuff like this that you post like this on, you do it everywhere. I'm not asking you to not be helpful, informative, or not share your opinion, but don't word it in a way that's doing nothing but trying to act witty or inflammatory. Thanks.
