both Robben and Martinez, such Dramaqueens. Martinez you have to lie on the ground for 2 minutes, when a hand touches your face?
btw I liked the game but it would have been much better if Arsenal had been more offensive (is that the right word? ^^).#
Bayern deliberatly not playing their best game?? no, not under Guardiola, where you have to fight to stay in the team. they have struggled against all big teams theyve played this season and this was another example. If they cant find the rhythm against teams that challenge them, then theyre only another fish in the sea.
Where exactly did they struggle?

city have better chances than arsenal did, that's for sure. They have a higher peak level than arsenal and barcelona's lowest is much worse than bayern's lowest. Additionally, Demichelis is suspended so maybe they can go without conceding some stupid penalty.
Still really unlikely though..

It wasnt penalty but whatever. See you after game, Steveling.
Pellegrini should start with Dzeko and Negrado, Aguero on number 10, David Silva as trequartista(mostly uses wings)..Then he will eat Barca's defenders alive.

Thing is, barca are not bad in their big games so far in the season. So although they look shaky I don't think they will lose. Don't forget last year same round they had lost 2-0 from this dying milan. Now they beat the best english team, 0-2 in england which is a traditionally bad place for them.

I give City a better chance to overturn their deficit then Arsenal. They looked the better team to Barcelona in the first leg even when down to 10 men but the Demichelis error was too significant to overcome and Barca took a pragmatic 2-0 victory. In a straight match I give City a decent chance to progress knowing the task at hand.
Bayern on the other hand, always looked comfortable in this tie, even if they never looked spectacular. Arsenal came out too cautious today. They needed to win by two goals and they came out looking to nick the game on a counter. Those kind of tactics doomed them from the start. Personally i'd rather lose by 4 goals playing with verve rather then lose by 2, playing as they did. Only the Ox played with any kind of ambition, and ultimately, it was a limp sort of game.

Once this bayern starts rolling you dont lose only by 4 goals, ask barca lol

Barça was far from being fabulous, but they were better than City in that game. City only reacted after the red card, for something like 20 minutes, but that's it.
But it was not the good City... So I'm very afraid for tonight's game, this Barcelona can lose 4-0 at home against this kind of team. The 2-0 advantage is big though, because teams that came in the Camp Nou to score goals always got punished in the past, will it be the same this year? We can also see a game where both defenses drown x) Very unpredictable... I'd say 2-2.

I feel like this has been most of the matches lately. He did more against Stoke in 15 minutes than the rest of the team did in 90. He's putting in an electrifying performance in every game. He's quickly becoming my favorite player on the team.

Sounds like someone is mad that they got knocked out of the cup prematurely.

I don't think there is any honest judgement that puts Barcelona above City in the first leg. Prior to the red card it was a mostly even game, with Barcelona having more possession, but less clear chances. After the red card City increased the urgency and actually looked stronger then Barcelona. Silva was also the best player on the field that night. It was a purely pragmatic victory for Barcelona in a game where they did not look particularly strong.
I give Barcelona the advantage of course now, with the 2-0 lead, but I think there is a legitimate chance City could win, unlike the Arsenal-Bayern tie. City has to go for it. Hoping to nick something only on the counter is for weaker teams, and if City hope to qualify for the next round they need to have the confidence to dictate the game rather then respond to Barcelona. I think they have the quality to do it if they really go for it.

Arsenal looked good at least in the first 20 minutes or so in the 1st game against Bayern, until the missed penalty.

^ agreed. It's not like Barcelona was better, but they were "less bad".
It's crazy though, we give a team that lost 0-2 in the first leg a shot against Barcelona at home... How things have changed in 2-3 years :'( I would like to know the % of qualification after a 0-2. Maybe 2%? Against Barcelona it should be 0%...

Arsenal looked like a match for Bayern for the first 20 minutes but completely capitulated once Schez got sent off. They parked the bus after that. Bayern was in control for the rest of the first game and all of the second game. That was not the case in the City game. It's true that never was Barcelona in real danger of losing the game, but City created numerous scoring opportunities while down a man. That performance leads me to believe they have a chance to make a game of it in the second leg. I think it will be a much more interesting match then Bayern-Arsenal.
Personally, I prefer Barcelona to win because I'm sympathetic to them for their Dutch roots with Cruijf, but they will need to improve greatly if they have any aspirations to win champions league this year.

Team NewsBlanc says he "may have to rest" Ibrahimović despite the improving condition of his back injury. The coach also confirmed that Marco Verratti, Gregory van der Wiel, Blaise Matuidi, Hervin Ongenda and Kingsley Coman would not be involved against Leverkusen as he seeks to "rotate the squad because of the busy schedule". Jérémy Menez, who has started just one Ligue 1 game in 2014, did not travel to Bastia because of a calf complaint, while Zoumana Camara has been sidelined with a similar problem. Team NewsJens Hegeler tore a ligament in his right ankle on Saturday and is likely to sit out the rest of the campaign. Lars Bender missed the Hannover game due to thigh problems while Stefan Reinartz (heel) and Ömer Toprak (ankle) have also been struggling – although both trained on Tuesday. "Bender and Toprak are very uncertain and we will delay our decision on Reinartz until after training," said Hyypiä.

Haha it seems like you waited the whole game for Neuer to concede a goal so that you can write this statement which you had probably already prepared beforehand. Too bad you chose a situation which doesn't really underline anything.
