But then they did business with Chelsea, and rejected Arsenal. Not cool guys ![]() Schürrle was very interested in moving to a bigger club, Leverkusen couldn't hold on to him much longer. And they found a replacement for him in Son. Bender on the other hand is not for sale, Leverkusen is not a supermarket ![]()

Bender is a key player for them, one they will really need to qualify for the CL again, as the 3rd and 4th spots will be very open next season in the Bundesliga. And after the Schuerrle sale, Leverkusen certainly didn't need the money. Edit: I also think all that talk about Arsenal having all this money to spend is going to get other clubs to play hardball with them in the transfer market : /

Bilbao should have taken the 20M offer for Llorente last year, now his contract expired and he scored only 4 goals last season. I hope the same doesn't happen to Dortmund ^^

Wenger "£10million, are they fucking joking, do they think we're made of money, no way, we'll find someone else, their trying to rob us" Repeat with every target ^_^

Just remember, before 2010, no european team had won a world cup outside of europe. So there surely is something like a "continental home" advantage; for various possible reasons. I'm surprised belgium is ranked so high, above the netherlands; I knew they have a very good qualifying campaign. But I haven't paid too much attention to them, do they really have a quality team all of a sudden? (they haven't qualified for a big tournament since when? 2002?) Can anyone explain? Also same for Colombia. France will be unpredictable as always, but they might not even qualify. As of now my dark horse picks are Japan (despite the Confed Cup performance) and the USA (I still believe Klinsmann might not be the best club team coach, but I think he's ideal to coach a national team at a big tournament). Not in the sense that I think they will the tournament, but they are underrated quite a lot and have shown quite some potential recently. Would not surprise me to see them eliminate a big name and show up in the quarterfinals. Colombia is ranked as high as it is because of how it's been performing lately in world cup qualifiers they are second behind Argentina by 3 points and with one game less, not to mention that they have arguably one of the strongest squads that the country has to show for in the last couple generations, and of course you have to mention Falcao. I admit I am a bit biased seeing as I am Colombian ;p , but yeah I agree not sure that they should be top 10 maybe top 15 right now anyway. but that's just FIFA rankings being messed up as always

Isco 30M€, the armenien guy from Donezk 30M€ i mean these are all good players but a couple of years ago everything above 20 Million looked very high and only for top players. Today it looks like every average player costs 10+

In the WC, it's usually the bigger football countries (amongst a few upsets here and there) who get to the later stages. The weighted 4 year calculation span might not be the best idea, but making it longer would mean upcoming countries will be slow to rise. Making it shorter would mean the list order would fluctuate even more. And doing well in the qualifiers doesn't much too much, just look at Holland last time ![]()
