Perhaps buoyed by news that he was close to joining Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon, Fredy Montero turned in one of his best performances of his loan to Millonarios. The former Seattle Sounders forward scored a pair of second-half goals to lead Millonarios to 2-1 win over first-place Santa Fe. At the same time, reports out of Portugal suggest Lisbon is expected to pay $3.25 million to secure Montero's rights. How this news is taken by Sounders fans is highly dependent on previous expectations. It has been widely reported that the Sounders put a more than $4 million purchase fee on Montero's loan to Millonarios. That also was the estimated amount the Sounders would need to secure in order to net the full $650,000 allocation windfall. The reported fee Lisbon is paying is obviously well short of that amount, but it should be enough to net a reasonable sum of allocation dollars. How much, exactly, is unknown but even a couple hundred-thousand dollars would grant the Sounders significant flexibility under a very constrained salary cap. Source

A Man Utd team with Baines LB is better than a Man Utd team with Evra LB. Plus the adding of Baines set peice deliveries is nice to add. Plus don't forget the way Moyes has his teams play is the all run around at 110% for 90minutes, younger people will suit him. No Baines won't improve your right but he is already good enough to play at the higest level. Man Utd are going to struggle next season, without Ferguson the pressure on Moyes and the team is going to be HUGE, every match every mistake is going to be amplyfied by 100% and will cause chaos. Also with there opening fixtures United could be in huge trouble early on xD i agree the first few fixtures are going to be tough. ridiculous that the team is going up against the other powerhouses so quickly and i think even consecutively. but you gotta admit theres enough maturity in the squad that they probably wont be too distracted by having a new manager. at least i hope not. Baines isn't really that much of an upgrade, an upgrade none the less. But for the price they'd want, and the longevity he'd give, and the youngsters he'd stop from coming through and give ideas going elsewhere, hes just not worth it.

Wouldn't go that far since they've been smart with their money so far, but yes that Malaysian guy is loaded. And he's stated that he wants to buy more players for the season. Maybe 4-5. Rumors were that he'd buy park Ji sung because of the Asian connection(Cardiff bought Kim bo kyung last year) although I doubt it

And Cardiff have also been heavily linked with former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt.

I guess due to their poor performances, they might not finish top of their qualifying group and have to go through play offs again. But currently they have a 2 point lead over Russia but have played 2 more games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_(UEFA)#Group_F Russia win 2 games in hand they are 4 points clear, Israel win there 1 game in hand and are 1 point behind them. Portugal are normally always struggling as of late in Qualifiers, for Euro 2013 they got into the play offs on the skin of there teeth, but to then play really well in the tournament. Who knows where they will finish in this campaign though, so i guess thats why there odds are so far out at the moment. Who knows when they win there group and qualify in the summer they might be 20s

I suppose there are high expectations for him in this WC? That's ridiculous, no player no matter how good is able to win a major competition by oneself. Well, even though messi won all by himself la liga this year and proved that he's what's made barca and not the opposite, things are different in a short term cup where people are willing to go all out and man mark you with 3-4 players every game. Having said all that I wouldn't put it past him to guide argentina all the way to the finals. And btw they are playing very very well, this past 1 year, their odds I think are legit and not only cause of messi. Their new manager is doing a good job.
