The weighted 4 year calculation span might not be the best idea, but making it longer would mean upcoming countries will be slow to rise. Making it shorter would mean the list order would fluctuate even more. And doing well in the qualifiers doesn't much too much, just look at Holland last time ![]() Well I know I'll probably get a lot of shit for saying this but I think it means more to do well in South American Qualifiers, but I do agree on your sentiment that it is isn't a clear indicator of how a nation will perform in the world cup.

- Cardiff is pursuing Cardozo and according to the media they posted a 10M£ offer. - Monaco offered 12M€ for Sporting, and Portugal national team Goal keeper, Rui Patricio - Real Madrid wants to include Coentrão and the percentage they have on Garay in the offer for Nemanja Matic - And reports on an offer of 12M£ from Chelsea for the 18year old sporting winger Bruma It depends on the money they are willing to offer on top of coentrão and the 50% of garay they still have

And a club like Benfica can't refuse an offer for 40M€ as we spend with staff (players included) something around 45M per year.

Coentrão is a great player for Benfica and not just that but you get the 50% on Garay, the hottest defender at the moment. I actually didn't know that Madrid still owned Garay for 50%, because given the numbers I've been hearing that could be worth 10~15 million at least.

We like him so much we bought his brother and 5 other Serbians to keep him company. Pretty much what i'm feeling right now Still acording to Portuguese Media, Bayern is willing to give 41M€ to get David Luiz from Chelsea!

Irregardless isn't a word. 2. What exactly would be the benefit of limiting transfer fees? Who would gain from it? Real Madrid and Chelsea? 3. A lot of people are willing to pay money to watch football. If not to the players, and to the clubs investing in the development of these players, then where will the money go, to Abrahamovic and his friends?

Keep in Mind that this is the Portuguese Media. For a 10M people country we have an outrageous amount of sport newspapers. We have 3 daily sport newspapers (A Bola, O Jogo and Record) so that's why we have A LOT of news everyday, and also a lot of speculation. About Bernard, all the papers say that the deal could be done by the end of the week.

I agree. But, noone shouldn't really, actors, singers, artists of all sorts, athletes, all these oligarchs like B.Gates etc. We can't really do anything about it though, that's the bestial power of capitalism, you see 100m and you think that's a hefty sum but the guys who pay for it are gonna get it back ten fold so..

All the people you listed (Bill Gates is not an oligarch), create much more value for society than they get paid. They deserve everything they earn.

Justin Bieber? Paul Walker? Jay-Z? Keanu Reeves? I'm not saying Athletes are worth more than actors or singers but they're at least on the same level. For me, soccer makes me happy, for others maybe it's movies/music but you really can't argue and say that those making exorbitant amounts of money are better/worse than others. one could argue that athletes are artists as well.. 1. Irregardless isn't a word. stop being a douche. you know what he meant.

People are willing to buy Justin Bieber's music and go to his concerts. If someone pays 60$ to go to his concert, it means that the concert generates over 60$ of happiness to that someone. If Justin Bieber is worth millions, it means he's generated millions worth of satisfaction to people around the world. Someone needed to point out irregardless isn't a word otherwise he's going to look bad again and again. I was being kind.
