Once he wins the CL this year or the next with a second club, even Mourinho will have nothing to say xD I remember Cesc said something like "My first year in Barcelona, I understood absolutely nothing of Guardiola's tactics". When you see the face of some Bayern players, it looks like Cesc isn't the only one x)

I mean anyone of the people in this forum could manage Bayern right now! At least with Mourinho at this moment in time is earning his money managing a Chelsea team that isn't that good and has us 3rd in the league some how. All of that with none of our strikers scoring an away goal in 2013 xD Impressive! Only probably Pep has is which of his galacticos does he leave out for this game ![]() Would be like saying Laurent Blanc has a hard job at PSG ![]()

Would be like saying Laurent Blanc has a hard job at PSG ![]() Well the team is playing a lot better than under Ancelotti... I'm not saying that Blanc is better than Ancelotti, but a coach does matter

![]() 2 semi finals of the Champions league losing to Bayern and Dortmund both of which were fantastic teams. Dortmund by 1 goal and Bayern by penalties. Is not a bad record as everyone knows you need luck to win a Champions league no matter if you are Barcelona Bayern Munich or Liverpool On January 08 2014 20:12 WillyWanker wrote: What was the excuse when Mou was in Madrid? Well the team is playing a lot better than under Ancelotti... Any manager in the game could win the league with PSG right now. EVEN David Moyes ![]()

Inter was, Chelsea reached champions league final to somehow lose on penalties after he left us too. We then went on to win 1 more league trophy 3 FA cups 1 Europa League 1 Champions League and a runners up medal ![]() And Guardiola left Barca and they have won ??? 1 League title last year and thats it? And look even worst this year than they did last year at defending when they got spanked by Bayern?

Pep got like 14 out of 21 possible trophies (talking out of memory). TBH the only year that was impressive by Mou was winning the treble with Inter. The rest of years were "meh" at best, compared to Pep. Also massive LOL at Barça looking bad now. Won the SuperCopa against Atlético. 54 Liga weeks in a row being the leader. Owned the CL group to first place, except for one game. Won against Madrid in the Liga 2-0. Neymar, Pedro and Alexis looking super bonkers, even with Messi injured for two months and Xavi/Iniesta not looking their best. Valdés on his way to win his 6th zamora title.

What do y'all think? Surely Bayern will all but guarantee that they win the German double for the next five years purely through money. Is the German league becoming so one-team that it's a problem? Is there anything that the DFB can do to fix it? Dortmund do have the potential to almost match Bayern's financial strength given continued success, but for that they need to hold on to key players. They won't lose Reus anytime soon and losing Lewandowski was to be expected and is not that important in my opinion. But losing Götze was a major blow to their chances, and losing Gündogan will be another one.

- They have two insanely attack-minded wing-defenders in Dani Alves and Jordi Alba. - They play high up the pitch being vulnerable to counter attacks which any defender would be in that style of play. - They contribute a lot to the positional play of Barça, meaning they can actually pass the ball. Sure they might be kind of bad at defending set plays but they just don't give away a lot of those because they're better at keeping the ball in play. It's just a different kind of perspective on how defenders *should* play. They're better at other defending aspects that aren't really prevalent in the premier league at all. There's it's just, to be blunt, put 2 big dumb guys in the defense that can head/kick the ball away and the extent on how good they are in those 2 things is the way people measure how good they are at defending.

I'm not out to compare the managers, I'm just saying there is plenty of room to say things about Guardiola because of having inherited an incredible squad at Bayern and having been around for the ride of a lifetime that was Xavi, Iniesta and Messi all playing insanely high level football (+ pedro, villa, puyol, abidal etc). Mou coached at Benfica and was very good with uniao de leira. His Porto team featured Deco so I'll agree that pretty much any of his big wins have come with stacked teams. BUT he has done it more in more countries. And the fact that Inter completely collapsed after he left seems less like 'leaving in tatters' just more like 'team has lost their motivational dynamo', it's not like the team was gutted of their star players. Everyone still rated that team massively highly after Mou left, in Fifa they were a top top rated team for example, but they just miserably failed to perform. Guardiola doesn't have any sort of managerial backstory so there are still questions to be asked about whether he is a particularly complete or accomplished manager. Not saying that they won't be answered or that he is a bad manager, just saying there are still plenty of things to say.

In his first year he promoted Barcelona B from third to second division, winning that Liga trophie and pulled 3 gems out of nowhere in Pedro, Busquets and Thiago. With him, those guys went from absolute nobodies to winning the treble, Eurocup and World Cup in just 4 years. What he did with Barça can only be qualified as genius. For perfect football go watch Barcelona 5 - Madrid 0. Not as hype as the 2-6 at Bernabéu because of how one-sided it was, but still.
