The race was not that exciting except for the start and the last few laps, when Vettel got the faster tyres. If they would put him on them one lap earlier, he might got on the podium, but this is all speculation. Alonso drove a dominant race from start to finish, thats more what is expected for him. I feel that Massa couldn't keep up with him this time, but also the timing of the stops worked against him. Kimi also drove a steady race, but somehow messed up his start. But I don't think he would have gotten any further without this, Alonso was just to good this weekend. Also strong performances from Hulkenberg, I wonder why he dropped so far behind in the last stages. He just, uhm, disappeard after leading the race for a quiet a while. Seems like the Sauber isn't as competetiv as last years car. McLaren seems like a Button-One-Man-Show, as Perez is clearly overshadowed and not as quick at all. With both being on the same strategy, at times Button drove 2-3seconds faster than Perez - seems like he needs to learn more. Speaking of learning, Guiterrez showed how it's not done. A quiet, but succesfull race for Riciardo, he made the best out of his good starting position, unlike last year where he often dropped back a lot. Otherwise really not that exciting race. If it wasn't for the last 5 laps and Vettels strategy, it would haven been an Strategy-Only-Race. But I really didn't expect that much, since China isn't know for exciting race, as is Bahrain.

They have new telemetary providers this year, and they have so far failed in supplying things like blue/yellow flag etc indicator lights to the drivers in time, and the notification about DRS was supplied late to the teams, who then had to radio the drivers. Also the straight where you use DRS was green, while the corner had yellow flags, so it wasn't 100% clear. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/106769 As was the case in the first two races of the season, the FIA's telemetry system had to be turned off, meaning among other things that drivers had no automatic disabling of the DRS when it was prohibited. [...] there had been a one-minute delay between the displaying of yellow flags until the notification that DRS had been de-activated. [...] A third issue was that a green light was being displayed on the main straight, which drivers believed meant that they could use DRS.

Shame he probably wont be in contention for the championship this season but he's really building a nice new home for himself
