It was like a once in a lifetime thing though, especially for the players, so there's that.

The general sports public was actually riveted I think, we love crazy conditions here, it's the sort of thing that will increase the profile. If I were from Costa Rica I would have thought the entire game was bullshit though, like we dodged playing an actual football skill game against them though. It was like a once in a lifetime thing though, especially for the players, so there's that. Yeah I think the whole point was to get used to the altitude. But I doubt the other away games for the US will be played in nice 70 degree sunny weather with a perfect grass pitch ![]()

Chelsea's Juan Mata says Spurs' Andre Villas-Boas is good enough to coach 'any team' amid talk linking him with Real. Ffs, why ruin your reputation Mr Mata ranked according to all their games except for games against the sixth-placed team in their group – will play-off for the four remaining spots. So that means, points/goals from teams who finish 6th dont count? (If you finish 2nd)

NO one is good enough for tha tit seems.

AVB "management" has got a team that was coasting in third place to behind Chelsea who are shocking by 2 points and Chelsea have a game in hand over them, He also blew a 3 goal lead against inter milan..... No they don't hate AVB, and we don't he was just shockingly childish when he managed Chelsea, and like he said in his Tottenham press conference he learnt alot from his time managing Chelsea, i.e don't take on the squads big players as you will not win. The way he approaches the game from a technical point of view is spot on, he wants all his players to play passing game, close down/press all the time and be quick on the counter. But also don't forget how to defend with strength. He is good, but what he did at Chelsea was very bad in terms of trying to "phase out" the old guard. He literally tossed Anelka and Alex into the reserve squad as soon as the season started :S From then he would take on Lampard (who at the moment is probably England's best midfielder? maybe biast :3) and put him on the bench all the time, same with Ashley Cole who is arguably (still) the best LB in the world. But anyway, silly quote by Mata he isn't ready for RealMadrid, a long way off. Needs a good 4-5 seasons getting tottenham top 4 all the time and winning some trophies.

It's because the only high-visibility ball that Nike makes is yellow, and since the US is sponsored by Nike, they only use Nike balls/equipment. The orange balls are made by Adidas. http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-655264 http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-655265 I guess that's also why the ball used yesterday had the Premier League logo on it (lol) Also wish they would have shown the other angle for that offside goal in the video as well, it's really hard to tell that they were offside from the TV angle. On the sideline angle you could see like 3 people offside.

And yes Sated, thats the dream i has of how England should play, Crouch and Carroll upfront, Gerrard Rooney cm Walcott Ox wingers, pump balls into box and crosses. Because until we actually teach our kids how to play football, by passing we cannot expect our national team to do it. Silly, silly ideas.

Headers are the most dangerous form of scoring in modern day football imo. Especially if you have quality wingers. And if you have tall strikers able to link up play, even better. I think this is one of Spain's biggest weaknesses. No one is afraid of their crosses.

Counter attacks and long-range shots are by far the most dangerous sources for goals for the last few years in my view. A lot of teams try to copy or learn from spain so maybe this is the reason but that doesnt' change the fact that most head goals ar most of the times considered bad positioning by defenders and goalkeepers.
